seen baby and heart beat at 6 weeks and emty sac at 8 weeks:(

at my 6 week scan i seen a little baby and heartbeat,
last week i didnt feel pregnant and booked another scan 8 weeks 3 days
and just seen a emty sac with a little blob in the bottom and the nurse told me it looked like a clot? and advised me to have a d&c right away, i didnt and come home, im so confussed on where my baby has gone? as ive had no bleeding?

is there any way the baby could be hiding? is it worth having another scan just to make sure??
or am i holding on to false hope?

Was there a heartbeat at your last scan?

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. This is a great website for support, help and answers though. I had an early mc too, around 6 weeks, and it's emotionally draining.

Hey hun. So sorry....i had this happen to me in October. Its called a blighted ovum. It mainly happens due to a chromosomal abnormality in the baby and our body realizes their was a problem and will stop developing the baby. Im so sorry youre going through this. I was given the option to miscarry naturally or d&c. I decided on doing it naturally but it took 4 weeks to finally happen. If have any questions or need support im here foryou.

Hi Amyyy, really sorryu r goong thtough this. I went fot scan at 8, 9 and 10weeks. Firdt week they found sac and yolk. Second just sac, i was devastated. They said it looed like a blighted ovum. I went back last week for my third as we needed to be sure but unfortunately the sac had stopped growing also. I really hope ur baby is hiding away somewhere. I prayed to see see a little heartbeat, it must be so difficult that u have. I would def ask for another scan and also ask about how much sack had grown between scans as it was that that finally confirmed it for us. As previous lady i have decided to wait for nature to take its course. I really hope things turn out ok for you but if they dont this time all i can say is that as the days go by you start to accept it a little more. Im coping by thinking i know we will try again soon and blighted ovums r not our fault just our body doing its job.sending u big hugs hon xxx

Hey thanks everyone

its sooo hard! pregnancy is soo hard!

im going to go for the d&c because i dont think i could wait for it to happen id be a wreck as im soo busy as im my mums carer too! this is another reason im devastated as my mums cancer has started growing and i really want her to meet her 1st grandchild!!

im not going to give myself false hope in seeing my baby again on wedz, but i just want to make sure, sorry for all your loses, but im sure our time will come again

I'm glad you decided to do the D&C, mine was natural and it was agony the entire 12 days. Our time will come again, someday soon hopefully!
