danger to TTC 4 weeks after MC???

hello girls,
i lost my wee one at 8 weeks plus 5 days and the midwife at the hospital told me to wait 2 AF cycles before trying again? is that right? because ive been reading alot of you are trying for the next egg straight away??

my heads so messed up i want to try again but i cant bring myself to even think about it tbh.

this was my first BFP and it meant the world to me and hubby and when we found out i was losing the baby i went numb and havent been able to find my self since. we lost her on 11th march and i feel like everyone expects me to be ok. im not.

hubby wants to try now but i keep remembering the midwife saying to wait 2 cycles,

so i guess my question is, is it dangerous to get pregnant streight after the loss? if theres infection etc would that harm the next pregnancy? if i did conceive how hard would it be to figure out my dates etc?

sorry 100 questions, i just dont know who else to ask than you girls.

thanks in advance girls
xx

hey hon, i had a d&c done just 2 days before your mc, and they told me to wait for 3 afs. been to ob/gyn yesterday and was told the same, they told me it takes a while for the uterus lining to heal and grow back to the proper size which can host a pregnancy.
this was also my 1st and we were both so shocked.
we decided to wait for 3 cycles and then start, as this is the safest option after the surgery. if your mc was natural then the recovery times are faster, you can wait 1 cycle and then try again.

if i were you i'd wait 1af jus to get your body back in shape, as sometimes conceiving immediately after mc can lead to another mc.. although this is more frequent for the d&c procedure.. ie my lining is about 60% of what it should be to be able to host a pregnancy, so if i conceived now it wouldn't probably make it.

so i wait, and in the mean time exercise and eat as healthy as possible - lots of vitamins, raw food, sports... so that my body is ready to go when we start ttc again

It is a personal choice. They say to wait after ERPC/D&C because they scrape your lining out. But a natural miscarriage is more like having a period plus you are more fertile right after. I had waited the recommended 3 cycles and m/c my next pg. So now my opinion is that is just smoke they blow. We are TTC again right away. I don't think it matters if it is one cycle or five cycles anyway, but that is just my opinion. Lots of support on this board for whatever you decide.

Hi Kat...I saw two different OBGYNs after my d&c AND methotrexate to bring the hcg levels down. Both said the same thing, no medical reason to wait more than 1 AF before TTC again.

HOWEVER, key word is medical. If you feel messed up, you should wait until you are emotionally ready to enjoy another pregnancy. If you don't give yourself some time and healing, you won't be able to enjoy the next pregnancy or ever feel confident about the outcome.

Good luck hun, I know how you feel- hang in there, it will get easier with time.
