hi ladies,

i miscarried 4 weeks ago, had a d&c done and bled for 8 days afterwards. i've been to the ob/gyn the other day for the follow-up, she told me all is fine and told me i am about to ovulate - there was a clear follicule there, i could even recognize it alone. she said my ovulation will start in 2-3 days, and that my period should come in 2 weeks (this she determined both from the follicule size and from the thickness of the uterus lining).

just that today, 2 days after the visit, i started bleeding - and it was black. not the standard brown spotting, i mean real black blood. it started really light, then got a bit heavier (still black) and started turning reddish only now.

can this be my period? i really don't think so as the ovulation was really clear - it's not an OPK or bbt measuerement, this was a transvaginal ultrasound - can't get more clear than that!

so if it ain;t my period what is it? this is the 1st bleeding i got since the d&c...

has anyone ever experienced this? is it possible to have a period and ovulate at the same time?

I never had this problemm but it could be a cyst but then again she would have probly seen that on u|s.. I don't think it is possible for u have ovulation a period at the same time. Maybe you should call ur doctor?

yes i think the same. it didn't look or hurt like a cyst though, i had one before and it made me twist from the pain during the transvaginal us.. gonna give her a call and see what's up.

It is maybe just old blood that was hanging around and the egg pushed it out? Just a guess!

Or maybe as it popped it caused some bleeding too, i really don't know but I would still count yourself as Ovulating and BD as she said you were going to.

I think post MC spotting and bleeding can come and go so it could just be random bleeding plus ovulation at the same time. GL x

going to see the doc today afternoon, this turned into a waterfall... changing 1 pad every hour bleah... really not me.

oooh i got an update )) the thing on my ovary is either a little cyst or a second ovulation,even if it was a cyst they told me those are totally normal and that it will resolve itself during the next cycle..
...the black blood was just an old blood (a lot of it though) and well... the bleeding i got now is my BRAND NEW AF!!!!!! wooohooooo!!!

ok it's SUPER HEAVY, like no other in my life up to now, but not more painful then usual! gonna buy a big huge bucket of chocolate ice cream, rent a romantic comedy and make a pajama party as when i was 13 years old.

Lol I'm about to start af as well and actually getting in the mind frame that I cant wait your idea of ice cream and a movie sounds delicious!!! Glad everything is ok

aww ben & jerry's chocolate chip ice cream did the job! two days of insanely heavy flow but no pains no cramps all in all we're getting back to normal here!
