I am new to this website and just wondered if anyone might be able to give me some advice.
I miscarried at 12 weeks jut before Christmas. As soon as my first period came, 6 weeks later, we started trying again. My first full cycle was 32 days, a little long for me, so we decided to use ovulation tests to increase our chances of getting pregnant again asap. I am now on day 40 of my current cycle, and ovulated on day 19 based on the clear blue tests. No sign of my period coming, but have done a few pregnancy tests since period was due and all negative. I am confused; I know cycles can be of varying length but I thought the variable bit was between period and ovulation; I have read that ovulation - period is generally about 14 days in most women. I am coming round to the idea that surely I can't be pregnant, but I really need to know for sure as I work in a job that has many potential hazards to a developing baby.
If anyone else has been in a similar situation I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts or advice.

can you get the blood work done, especially regarding the nature of your job? the only time i had such a long delay in a cycle was because i had an ovary cyst which grew after an anovulatory cycle (the follicle was there but it didn't release the egg and kept growing as a cyst) and delayed my period for 2 weeks...

Thanks for replying lovewithin. I think the only thing to do really is go to Drs and see if they can maybe confirm one way or the other with a blood test, as you say. I really do need to know- not only for work, but also as my husband's sheep have just started lambing, and I really want to help, but I can't go near them at the moment in case I am pregnant!
