Has anyone ever put off doing a pregnancy test when late on their period??

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has ever put off taking a pregnancy test when late on their period?

I am 6 days late today and am yet to take a test. Normally I would the day I was late but after miscarrying in January, something is stopping me?

It is a mixture of two things I think, one being naturally the fear of being disappointed and the other is almost the nice feeling of not knowing and meaning we could be?

I hope I dont sound crazy!!!

I would appreciate to hear stories of anyone else who feels or has felt similar.

Thank you xxx

Hiya hun,

i MC'd on Friday 13th, very unlucky day for me i think, and we have decided that if i were to think i was pregnant or even be a few days late on my period then we wont test for a few days as the longer we leave it the better we will feel as i miscarried 5+6 we knew from 4 + 3 it kinda dragged for us so i kinda know what your thinking lol xxx

Thank you for replying Hun.

We too miscarried on Friday 13th. horrible day for us both.
I was 6 weeks pregnant too and we found out when I was only 2 to 3 weeks, so agree that I'd rather find out later than that.

How are you feeling in yourself?

I am 6 days late today and still no period but have held off testing for I think the same reasons as you.

Xxxx

How mad, both MCd on the 13th, were both 6 weeks and we are both Welsh?! What part of Wales you from hun?

well i bled from Thursday - yesterday so iv had 5 days of light bleeding, so im not sure if i would class that as my period? iv had diff responses from diff websites. had another HCG test today and mine is at 40 Friday it was 641 sunday it was 114 so its come down abit, got to go back next Tuesday now for my last one to make sure its at 5, so im hoping my levels will be normal by the weekend so we can try again. im feeling ok, Friday i was devastated, saturday i felt numb and angry and sunday i just felt lost, now im just feeling tired like i was when i was pregnant.

How are you feeling hun? did you have a natural MC or did you need a D&C or anything? what did the Dr's say about you trying to concieve again? xxx

They are a lot of coincidences!!
I live near Pontypridd, are you in Rhondda?

I really am sorry to hear about your loss. I went through all those emotions in the week after the mc. We miscarried Friday 13th January, so almost three months ago now. I felt lost for that week and so so gutted.
I promise it gets a bit easier at time goes on.

I was very lucky in the sense that it was a natural miscarriage an apart from bleeding I only had mild stomach cramps, so no real pain.

I was told to try again wen we were ready and that We didn't Have to wait. I think people are all told different things.

I was very keen for us to be pregnant right away, almost like I didn't want to lose any time. Looking back we didnt try as religiously as initially so maybe I wasn't as ready as I thought? We didn't last month really so I am hoping this I meant to be???

Do you think what you have had is your period?

Xxxxx

Where too? I live in Ynynsybwl now with my boyfriend :-)

i was thinking when you said you MC'd on friday 13th and your period is late, you had me thinking where mine was but i didnt realise you had MC'd 3 months ago, how late are you hun? I would give it a week before you test then you should be 5 weeks then!

my experiance was the same as yours then, very mild cramps and very lgiht bleeding, how long did you bleed for?

well i had to go back to the Royal Glam for more bloods done and the nurse was lovely there and told me to wait for a period as its easier for dates etc and then i told her i wanted a scan if i were to get pregnant again and she knelt next to me and whispered 'well if you were to get pregnant now before your period you would need to have a scan' and winked at me! I just hope the miscarriage bleeding would be classed as a 'period' so that means i would be ovulating next month! we didnt really try last time, just had fun, but i did lift my legs up (for a laugh) and i conceived so ill be doing a lot of leg lifting!

Oh i hope your pregnant now! be some nice news! xxx

I live about 5 mobs from Ponty.

I am very sorry chick, I didn't explain that very well.

Isn't that lovely of the nurse to say that? Is that what you and your boyfriend will do?
I really hope it happens again for you and quickly.

I am 7 days late today so of my calculations via the web are right I would be 5 weeks now?

Thank you for your help xxx

Hey,

I wanted to share our good news. We did a rest last night and we are pregnant!!!!
My husbands response.... That's soon isn't it and smiled.

I then took a digital test to confirm that we are 5 weeks and it said 2 to 3 but I don't think that's accurate? I worked it out on an nhs website and it said 5 weeks.

Xxxx
