I delivered at 29 weeks, they are healthy other than their weight, and breathing on their own, I am scared and worried to death about my girls. They both came out with a full head of hair, they will grab your finger and what not. Has anyone else delivered this early. The nurses are saying they are not allowed to come home till december.
I haven't got any advice to offer but I did want to say congratulations and well done! Weights can come up and breathing will get better over time. And just remember that December is an estimate. They very well may be home sooner!
Firstly, congratulations!! I bet they're super gorgeous What have you called them?
I have never had a prem baby myself so I have no advice but I hope you have many many many more ups than you have downs. Just think, if they are in hospital until December, what a wonderful Christmas present it will be having them home! Time will fly, it always does in the run up to Christmas.
Wishing you and your baby girls all the best and lots of strength x
Congratulations sweet, tho not an ideal gestation and very scary, you have two beautiful babies who have every chance of doing well, going from strength to strength and being at home with you sooner than you think
I had my second child at 24wks so know exactly how you must be feeling right now. To give you hope, she is the healthy 8yr old in my avatar The NICU journey is at times tough, but you can do this chick. Your girls have made 29wks, (that's soooo much better than Evie), and They're girls, who generally have less complications and deal with prematurity really well.
Take things day by day, don't look too far ahead and get in touch if you need any advice or support. That fact that your girls are breathing on their own is a brilliant sign, and there is no reason now why they shouldn't just need time to grow, and to learn how to feed efficiently. Take care, and don't do this on your own honey
Congratulations, they have beautiful names. I can't imagine how scared and nervous you are but i hope they thrive and you can have them home fast.
Did they ever end up sending you home or did you have them at the hospital an hour away from home?
