Twins - is this possible?

Okay im really wondering if i could be having twins. Not really from any symptoms, but it runs in my family. My mums, mum was a twin. and my dads mum was also a twin.
Plus the only symptoms ive had is feeling sicky/heartburn/acidy stomach. And my boobs. my hell they kill! Yeah im already big size chest, 40E - 40F. They are so sore and have to wear a sports bra for bed to support me (plus ive gone up 2 cup sizes!)

My parents had me and two other girls, Im really wondering how likely it could be for myself to have twins (oldest child)

I found out i was pregnant a week ago, an all that has really been on my mind it twins, thinking when 'they' move, see 'them' on a scan etc. Is this just because im like obsessed with twins (as in past i always loved to have twins). I cant wait to have my first scan to see if its twins or not!!

Firstly congrats on your BFP!! How far along are you? You say you have twins in your family - are they fraternal or identical? If fraternal, then this is hereditary and so there may be a chance for you to have twins. If identical then it wont make a difference, as identical twins are a fluke - it can happen to anyone and isnt hereditary. As for it being on your dad's side, dont think it matters as it is hereditary from the maternal side, not paternal. As for symptoms, its not easy to tell really. There are some ladies here who didnt have any strong symptoms and others who felt more pregnant and sick - varies from pregnancy to pregancy really. I personally felt alot more neasous (sp) than i did in my first pregnancy, alot more hungry and although it was a complete shock - I had a feeling that something wasnt quite the same and kept joking with my sis that im either having a girl this time (I have a 4 year old as well as the twins) or twins on the way. It was the latter!

Thank you!! I am 6weeks + 3. And so excited as its our first baby
Well im not 100% sure but i think they were both fraternal twins. I know i wouldnt be able to tell from symptoms as i didnt even know i was pregnant. (tested a few days before BFP and was BFN so i presumed it was BFN) So i cant really say i 'feel' it. Plus my friend is having twins! she is 17 weeks now, and only way you could tell with her was her tummy was huge for how far she was.

twins run in my family too. There is one set of fraternal twins in every generation on my maternal side and now i am having twins. I have also been pregnant with identical twins but sadly had a mmc. Hope you get the answer you want x

Identicals dont run in families, they have no explanation as to why an egg splits. Non identicals run only through a womans side of the family because its how many eggs are released.

Congratulations on your pregnancy hun.. Hope you have a safe and happy pregnancy.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Twin pregnancy was my third, and sickness was worse than with my singleton son, but nowhere near as bad as with my singleton daughter! I had twin boys. Double the boy hormones was still not as bad as single girl hormones

Was bigger earlier on tho, and felt lots of pressure in my back passage from 8wks - TMI! This was my third pregnancy tho, so relaxed ligaments could have explained this x
