Family history?

Hi all,

Just being nosy really. Wondered how many of you mums of multiples had a heightened chance of multiples (family history - IVF etc) and how many were completely out of the blue? xx

My mum had twins but I dont know how far back it goes. She had her twins at 22 weeks some 30 years ago so they didnt survive.

Out of the blue for me (as they are identical, and id twins are a complete fluke as the embryo splits in two), although I could have had non-identical twins as my gran had two sets. I never expected it though, as other than my gran, no other family member or any of her (many) granchildren had any twins, so i was shocked!

My mother had frat twins (boy/girl)...

And our second set on the way is 100% natural and 99% chance of frat.

It does NOT skip a generation, btw!

I did fertility drugs & did IUI on first try & got fraternal twins!!!

My maternal nan had twins - she had nine children.

My sister has four year old boy girl twins and I have the boys - neither of us had assisted conceptions.

For us it did skip a generation xx

No fraternal twins whatsoever in my family until mine!! Conceived naturally and a massive surprise :-) Maybe a chance of twin grandchildren???
