Question about bleeding for twin mummies....Update!

Hi, I'm very newly pregnant, about 6.5 weeks. I have been experiencing light bleeding (no cramps) on and off for 10 days now. Had a scan last week which found 2 sacs with yolk, one at 5.4w and one at 5.1 weeks. The older one had a tiny fetal pole. My mum's mum is a frat twin and there are other twins in the family too.

My question is did any of you experience bleeding in first tri with twins? Be honest about what the outcome was, I can handle it. The bleeding is enough to show on a panty liner but not as heavy as a period. It's been pale red/brown or brown, no clots.

Also with twins do they measure smaller than single babies even very early on?

Thanks! X

UPDATE: Hi ladies, thanks for your advice. I was scanned again today and we have one very healthy looking 7.5 week fetus with a good heartbeat. They also found two other gestational sacs (yes originally triplets) however nothing has grown in either. However we are thrilled the is one healthy one but it looks like I won't be joining twin mummies just yet.... Maybe next time! X

Actually, I have gotten pregnant twice with twins. Once last year and I am 10 weeks pregnant now. I had some bleeding with both. Unfortunately, I miscarried the first set, which had nothing to do with the babies. I lost them at the very beginning of the second trimester due to cervical issues. With this pregnancy, I am getting a cerclage (cervical stitch) in a week.

I heard spotting is normal with twin pregnancies

I had weeks upon weeks of off and on bleeding from my pregnancy with the twins. It was sub-chorionic hemorrhaging. At times the bleeding was gushes of red blood soaking through a pad with small small clotting. In the end though despite all my fears I went to 38w1d and delivered two very healthy fraternal twin girls. I was very nervous during the first weeks of my pregnancy until I hit the 'viability' mark and then I started to relax a little week by week. There is a thread somewhere on here for support and info about SCH if you think this is what you have.

Hey hun, I had brown bleeding in 2 out of 3 of my pregnancies in the first 8wks inc. the twins and they are all now healthy toddlers and children. It disappeared as soon as it began and there was never any cause found. As for the embryos measuring smaller, all embryos/babies measure the same in the first 12wks and grow at the same rate whether twins or singles. Are you measuring behind dates? Good luck hun xxx

My friend had a huge gush of blood at 14 weeks, bright red, but both babies were fine! Dont know what it was.

I havent bled at all with my twins but did 3 times with one of my singletons. No MCs

Hi Hun

I had two lots of bleeding with my twins once at 11 weeks and once at 13 weeks, both times it was bright red and lasted a couple of days before turning brownish and disappearing after a week. Mine was down to a hematoma which was a small pocket of blood on one of the twins placentas.

I was told it would bleed out or be absorbed into my body. Happy to report I have two happy, healthy babies at 6 1/2 months old

Just stay positive hun, DON'T GOOGLE as I made myself totally paranoid reading stuff on there which didn't help my state of mind. So stick to this forum, I know quite alot of us on here have bled with our twins.

Wishing you all the best for a healthy and very happy pregnancy xxx
