Sorry for the intrusion...

Im actually not having twins but I thought this might be a good place to post my query

My youngest daughter will be 11months old when my son arrives later this year and im having trouble finding a double buggy. What with seating variations, fitting it into the boot of our car (S-Max but with all 7 seats in use so very little boot space), and even just getting it into our house (tight turn from the hall to the kitchen means a side-by-side is out) its been a bit of a nightmare!!

I think (think, haha!) ive got it down to three now - The Icandy Peach Blossom, The Baby Jogger City Select or the Phil&Teds Promenade. Ive seen the first 2 'in the flesh', as it were, and liked both. However the more I read (darn you Google!!) the more issues I seem to be coming across. Im now worried about the size of the seats on the Peach Blossom?? If my youngest 2 are anything like their older sisters they're goin to be tall! Anyone have any experience of older children in the PB?? The BJCS seemed like a really good choice however ive now read that as the children get older it becomes very heavy and difficult to steer/get up kerbs etc. Once again, anyone with experience?? As for the Promenade I cant even find it to try out! So all I have are images on the web to go from.

Any information would be very much appreciated ladies, thank you. x

You're right about the peach blossom. One of the seats is very small. I have the icandy pear and while it is absolutely beautiful to look at, I've been reading (from other twin mums) that it becomes really difficult to steer once the children are bigger because of the weight. The pear does have slightly bigger seats than the peach blossom however, unless you have a smaller than average 2/3 year old, they probably won't fit for long.

As for the baby jogger city select, I have heard nothing but bad things about this. Apparently its enormous and heavy, impossible to push with one hand if you need to I am just waiting for the release of the baby jogger city mini 2012 version (released next month) which I will be buying for my twinnies (my 2 year old walks and we'll get a buggy board for when he can't be bothered to!).

Seriously re the baby jogger city mini, about 90% of the twin/multiple mums on this group I'm a part of in facebook own this buggy. If anyone ever asks for pram advice, five minutes later you'll have thirty comments from other mums saying to buy the BJCM. It is apparently a dream to push, even if you have two 4 year olds in it! It has incredible hoods that come all the way down over the children so you don't even NEED the raincover. Lay flat seats that move independantly to eachother.. oh, if you look up some reviews, you'll see for yourself. AND the new 2012 version can take carrycots on the main seats, like the select, so will be perfect for your newborn

Sorry for the rant lol. I'm pretty passionate about this pram and I don't even own it yet!!

Forgot to add, it folds up very easily and almost flat. There are loads of videos on youtube/google. Just search for Baby Jogger City Mini x

I have a baby jobber city mini and I love it! Easy to steer ( even with one hand) dead easy to fold and unfold, and folds up quite flat. Definately a good choice.

I'm also a member of the baby jogger city mini fan club!! I had 3 doubles before settling on this one and it is by far the best. Folds down small, easy to push, little ones look comfy in fact mine sleep in it during the day, and we fit through nearly all doorways.

I have the baby jogger city mini too and it's great. it's very light and easy to fold. I could fold it myself two weeks after my c section.

Originally I wanted a tandem but all the ones I saw where really heavy so decided on side by side, it's doesn't fit in my house as I have super small doors but does in all my friends, luckily we gave a garage attached so I put the girls in the pushchair in the garage and then away we go.

Good luck choosing. xx

Sounds like The BJ City Mini is a firm favourite

Does anyone know how the 2012 version will differ from the earlier model?

Im still a little concerned about the tight turn from the hallway to the kitchen as its a side-by-side?? Our garage stands alone so id really need for it to fit into the house. It definately sounds like one I need to have a look at though, you cant beat a good review (or many, haha) from mums that are actually using them!! John Lewis sells them I think??

I saw a Bugaboo Donkey whilst I was out shopping. I really wanted this one but after trying it out in the shop we realised it just wasn't practical for our car. And if im worried about the City Mini not fitting in my house...!!!

Thank you for all your input ladies. x
