Implantation dip?

I didnt know about this...I have had a temp dip 5DPO, could this be implantation? I had a rise after OV, a spike and then a dip to where it was before OV, just waiting to find what it will be tomoza. so if it was implantation would my temp rise again quite high and remain high?

i thought it stayed high after ovulation as well, as that what happened to me last month then i had a rise and a a dip followed by AF 24 hours later, but this cycle its gone from 36.6 4DPO to 36.9 5DPO and 36.5 6DPO, my temp last cycle after OV was 36.6, I hope this means something as last cycle I didnt get this high temp until a few days before AF!

i probably shouldnt read too much into this as ive been getting up between 8-11 this week!

Hey GeorgyGal

Finger's crossed it's implantation

You might wish to consider the alternatives also, as so many women (myself included) have been so convinced the dip is implantation when it's not.

Ovulation dips only occur in about 20% of pregnancy charts.

It's quite common to get a fallback rise following ovulation. Basically this means that your body (after the initial surge) isn't producing enough progesterone to keep your temperature elevated. This is extremely normal, happens to me almost every month. Once your progesterone is steadily increasing so will your temperature, right up to the moment AF is due and your progesterone levels drop off (either immediately before AF or just after)

That aside, it does happen for about 20% so who's to say you're not part of that

Do you take your temp at the same time each day?

thanks for that reply cheeky, so the dip is normal and implantation could still occur? well actually i took that near midday as had a late night (the high temp) then the low temp this morning was taken at 9am. i temp as soon as i wake up. maybe this isnt accurate but i cant help but temp as like to compare from last cycle plus last cycle i got some weird reading but they did show a pattern.

Yeah, I think your irratic readings are what's causing the temp rises/drops. The later you take your temperature, the higher the reading will be, and vice versa.

I would try setting an alarm for the same time each day and see how you get on with that. Once you're used to it you can have your temp taken and be back to sleep within a minute or so.

After a few cycles you should start to see a similar pattern occuring each month and from that you'll start to know what's normal for you

Good luck xxxxxxxxx

thanks again, ill be back at work next week so will start properly then, im sure ive OV'ed and am 5DPO so think im covered and ive done all i can this cycle. im a pretty erratic sleeper so its hard to set an alarm and then go back to sleep after but last cycle showed a temp rise after OV followed by a ride and dip before AF. So that low progesterone if that is the case wouldnt have an impact on conceiving or implantation?

No it'll have no impact whatsoever GeorgeyGal, it's very common to have a progesterone dip just after ovulation so don't worry about it

Good luck for this cycle, hopefully you won't have to worry about charting for too long!

Hi babes - - yes this could be an implantation dip - can you post your chart on here so i can see it. You temps have to remain high after this for pg to be possible but you can have a day when your temps dip - as long as its just one day - if u can post a copy of ur chart - i'll be able to tell
