Evap vs. Faint +

How can you tell the difference between an evaporation line and a faint positive?

a faint positive will show up within the time limit, where as an evap will show after the time limit (if an evap does occur) x

Unless the test is blue dye, especially in clear casing. In that case, the timing of the faint line doesn't mean a lot.

A faint line is a faint line, with pink tests if you see a faint line that has a bit of colour in, then it is a positive. But you can only trust this if you get it within the time limit... if you think you had a positive, then wait 48 hours and test again. make sure you test with first wee of the day and it will be more concentrated.
When i got my bfp on Weds, i tested in the evening and got a faint line and i have tested again each morning and it has gradually got darker.
Im not sure about it dissapearing after the time limin hun, but my tests have stayed positive.

From my experience there is a type of evap on the ic tests which does show in the time limit and then disappears . Very disappointing! Hope you get your positive soon .

disappearing line = BFN a positive should stay for at least 48 hours after the test was taken, I have noticed that positives rarely disapear. I still have my hpt from my first pregnancy and it still has big bold lines on it almost two years old.

This is my situation:

Yesterday morning I took a FRER (second morning urine). Saw negative after several minutes. Took a nap, woke up a couple hours later, looked at it, saw a second pink line.

At about midnight last night, I took another FRER (urine held for about two hours). Negative after the first few minutes. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, saw a second pink line.

Woke up this morning at 5:00AM, took a third FRER with my fmu. Negative after the first few minutes. At about 11:00 this morning, saw a second pink line.

I know these tests aren't reliable... but I'm wondering why on earth this is happening to me?? I've never known a negative FRER to show anything but stark white nothingness.
