Negative blood test 9dpo....now have strep and my temps are jacked up :(

I just had a blood test because I've been crampy AF isnt due until Sunday...so I was hoping it was implantation but the blood test was completely a 0! She showed it to me.....I am hoping there is still a chance of late implantation....I just am sooooooo wanting to give up right now and cry my eyes out but I keep hanging on to the little tiny spec of hope that I have left....Anyone have any input or been in this situation?

Here is some info I found online:

To know for certain how early you can take a pregnancy test, there are some things that you need to understand both about conception, as well as how exactly it is that pregnancy tests work to tell you whether or not you are going to be expecting a bundle of joy. Knowing these things can help you decide when it is that you should take a pregnancy test.

The first thing that you need to be aware of is exactly what a pregnancy test does. A pregnancy test is designed to check your urine for the presence of hCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. HCG is a hormone that is produced only after you have become pregnant. Your levels of hCG will rise during the first trimester of your pregnancy. Some pregnancy tests are very sensitive, and will be able to measure hCG at lower levels, whereas other pregnancy tests are not nearly as sensitive.

You also need to know at what point in pregnancy it is that your body starts to produce hCG. Your body does not start to produce hCG once the egg has been fertilized. Rather, your body starts to produce hCG after the fertilized egg has been implanted in the wall of the uterus. This implantation takes place somewhere between 7 and 10 days after you ovulate. Depending on when it is that you had sexual intercourse, this may be as many as 12 to 15 days after you attempted to conceive. From there, it takes a couple of days for levels of hCG to be high enough to register, even for the most sensitive tests.

Based on all of this, you can take a pregnancy test as early as 8 days after you ovulate. Having said that, you are still likely to receive a negative result, even if you are pregnant. Most of the time, the most sensitive tests will be able to pick up a pregnancy by the time you hit your 12th day of pregnancy, and almost all tests will be able to detect your pregnancy once you have actually missed your period.

I have read online there are some very rare cases of a blood test coming up negative and the woman actually being pregnant...but it's really really rare. Most blood tests test the quantitative (meaning quantity) amount of HCG in your blood and they're suppose to be the most accurate pg test (from what I know anyways).

I would just wait until your period comes. If it doesn't show up, go back to the doctors.

Hope this helps

I have read somewhere on BnB that the blood test wasn't detecting pregnancy until the 3rd week of the missed pregnancy. I have also heard of womens bodies not producing or having enough HcG to show pregnancy on tests through a big chunk of their pregnancy. Everyone is different! Don't give up hope- just wait until you miss your AF to try and test again! I know its super hard, but it will be worth the wait when you get a BFP Good luck

When does blastocyst implantation actually occur after an IVF cycle - or in a normal menstrual cycle?

•Implantation occurs on day 6-10 after the egg retrieval
•Which is 1 to 5 days after a blastocyst transfer
•Which is equivalent to day 20-24 of a natural menstrual cycle (idealized 28 day cycle)

I found this.....but I have only a 24 day cycle....so if this is true it could still be 3 more days before IMPLANTATION...then add two more to catch the HCG...maybe its just too early wishful thinking I suppose?

when did you have the bloods taken, i wouldnt give up yet your chart looks good, there could be an implantation dip on day 8 so tomorrow at the earliest would be hcg in system. I had implantation dip on 10dpo got +hpt on 13dpo, did 2 ic with sensitivity of 10 on 12dpo and almost not there + but anyone else would have said neg. so entirely possible you could still be pregnant. PMA and baby dust to you

This happened to me with my first pregnancy! I had a blood test that came back negative. As the next week went on, I experienced more symptoms and just "felt" pregnant. A week or so later (don't remember exactly how many days as I didn't keep a journal - wish I would have!) I went and got another blood test and it came back positive! Don't give up hope!
