Testing question

I posted this elsewhere but thought I would put it here to solicit response from a wider audience. I broke down and tested first thing this morning with a FRER test. I got a bfn but I'm not sure I can trust the results. When i took the test nothing showed up on the screen for over ten minutes and then about 15 minutes later the control line (finally!) showed up and got quite dark. Do you think that regardless that the control appeared it's invalid because it didn't happen for over ten minutes or do you think that it may still be valid b/c it did eventually appear? I'm thinking that if it were to pick up the test control line than it should still pick up the test line eventually if hcg is present regardless of whether or not it's within the time frame... but am I wrong? Darnit! What a pain. I guess I'll just hold off until af is late until I test again. What a waste of a test. I'm not sure what to think... what do you all think?

sounds silly - but did you get enough pee on it? I ruined a FRER before because I missed. Teach me to test with FMU at 3 am.

I'm pretty sure I got enough pee on it as I had a full bladder at the time and held it in the stream but I had a problem with another test last month as well that never got a control line or a test line. Is this common? I'll try and dip from now on instead of POAS so that I'm sure it's fully saturated. Oh well, at least I have one more test left. I'm going to try again if my period doesn't show up this weekend.

Feelcrazy I'm either 10 or 11 dpo... I'm not sure if I ovulated on the 2nd or 3rd. Fingers crossed for our bfps.
