Feel bad, had to tell work and have not told family yet!!

I have been avoiding a decision i was required to make at work about a new aspect of the firm that they want to open and want me to head. I didnt want them to expand on the basis of me taking it forward if I couldnt be there and then feel that id allowed a risk purposefully. I was forced in a meeting to explain myself this morning and now feel horrible that work know and our family's dont. I really didnt want to tell anybody at work or families etc until i had a scan and now im really bothered. Whole reason for not telling family was because they wont keep it quiet and if for any reason we have any problems i dont want it being public knowledge. Ahh to tell them early or not to tell them early??? Anyone else in the same boat?

You do know that you posted your thread in the TWW forum right? No one here would be in the same position as you right now as we are waiting to see if we actually are pregnant. Good luck though

i feel your situation. I havent told my hubby, but I had to tell a few people at work so that they can look out for me.... I am a RN on a very, very heavy floor (physically).....and on top of that there are patients that I should just not be around.... so I had to tell a few people so that they can cover me for my baby's safety. I also had to tell my dentist, because they wanted to do a crown, and my hair stylist (because i was getting a cut without full color!).

hubby and i decided not to tell till 12 weeks....but it kills me to know that other, less "important" people know when the most "importnant" people dont.

i think since we are the ones who are responsible for the health of this baby, that we shouldnt feel bad about the decisions we make regarding who we tell...and that our family and close friends would be more than understanding and will be focusing on the exciting news and the future instead of demanding to know who knew first!
