I've read about a lot of false negs on the FRER, even though it is supposed to be super accurate. And some people get pos on the super cheap ones before the FRER, even when using them at the same time, which is weird. I don't want to get your hopes up, but my fingers are crossed for you guys!

Later ovulation is what I was thinking as well. If she ovulated even 1-2 days off from when you are calculating she did, it can make all the difference.

I had very few symptoms with my first and the one or two that did show up were not until well into the first few months.

Fingers crossed for you!

So update:

First test was done with FR Digit Gold on Wednesday, April 11. Negative. 1 date late

For some reason the wife woke up at 4-4:30am and used the FR Early Result. She got a VERY faint pink line. She overlooked it at first, but when I got up and looked at it (well within the 10 minute window), I saw what almost looked like a shadow/impression, but was unmistakeably a faint pink line. Is this a conclusive positive, or should we wait again?

That sounds very promising! FRERs are not usually known for evaps, from what I know. Evaps usually look like a grayish/whitish (no colour) shadowy line, right where the test line should be. If your line has a bit of colour, it's probably a genuine positive. I would probably try again with another Early Response Test (maybe a different brand). She should hold her pee for about 3-4 hours at least, and try again in this morning (or tomorrow morning), as that's when the pregnancy hormone is highest. It might be good to try again with a FRER tomorrow morning as well, just to compare. Digitals are sometimes not as sensitive, so can give you a negative this early on.

I hope it really is a positive for you!

Update 2: Following hot on the heals of the FR Early Result test, she is now having light spotting. Is this her period? She is utterly devastated.

More details: Very light pink spots, no cramping. She said she was surprised because she went to the bathroom and saw it after she wiped (sorry for being so graphic). Any input appreciated. Miscarriage? Implantation bleeding?

I know guys don't normally post, but do believe I am just as heavily invested and want a child.

Hi there. I'm in the same boat! 3 days late. I didn't test today but the days before I tested and they were all negative.
This morning I had cramping and light spotting (2 red spots and pink as well). I'm not sure what is going on but I think I might have ovulated late and that I'm having implantation bleeding now? I'm testing again on Monday to see what's going on!
With my daughter my period started buy stopped after a day.
Fingers crossed we'll get some positive tests!
X

Could be implantaion bleeding. This commonly happens around the time that the period is expected. If it is implantation bleeding it will take a few days before the hormone is high enough to give a solid positive on a HPT. I would tell her to test again in a few days with first morning urine.

Don't worry about any graphic details, I think most around here have heard, read and said it all

Fingers crossed for you! Sounds promising!
