I'm not sure. At the moment we're saving for a house, so we need at least 10,000 for that. It's gonna be a long wait!

10,000 does sound really good though, I definitely don't think I'd be worrying if I had that much saved!

Hi, we want to have about 8000 it will be enough to top up my maternity pay as I want to take a year off and won't have a salary for the last three months. That amount is also to pay for everything we need for the baby as this will be our first. A lottery win would be very welcome here

Since I'm in the US I'm using $$, but we would like around $16000 ideally before I go on maternity leave- however $9000 of that is for a down payment on our own home, so a minimum of $7000 as a cushion while I'm on maternity leave for bills and whatnot!

That is about 13000, I believe! It feels like we'll never be there but this is our ultimate goal- if we're anywhere close, I'll feel comfortable.

Both times I have saved about or just over $10,000 both times and towards the end it was a bit of a struggle but still manageable and i had the full year off both times.

We're looking at saving around 5000 before TTC, mainly because I know I've got a really good maternity package with my job so shouldn't have to worry too much.

Woweee! We aim to save a couple of thousand to cover costs of pram etc, and the rest can just be put aside. I'll only get SMP, but in theory we'd manage. We have debt to clear first, so I don't want to add extra time to wait!
