Navel Piercing and Pregnancy

Hello Ladies

I have my belly button pierced and would love to hear your personal experiences with your piercing through out your pregnancy, last pregnancy or current one.

* please share if it was a new fairly new or old (healed) piercing and if you used a pregnancy ring regular one or no ring

Also if you didnt know , there are pregnancy belly rings out there that are of course made for pregnant women. which is what i am going to use.

Thank you ~ baby dust to all

I took mine out when pregnant with DD, I'd had it done for about 3 years before falling pregnant.

I brought a pregnancy ring but as I got bigger it got really uncomfortable so I just got rid of it. I've now got a little scar where the skin was stretched but its barely noticeable. I would have liked to of kept it but a belly ring in pregnancy wasn't a priority and I don't miss it at all now

It bloody hurt!!!! It was like the feeling of skin being stretched to its absolute max but not having anywhere to stretch to IYKWIM?

It did close but honestly I don't miss it all, no one ever saw it anyway and having my baby girl more than made up for losing it. There's always the option to get it repierced but like I said, honestly not bothered that I don't have it xx

I had my belly button piercing for 13 years when I got pregnant. I fully intended to keep the bar in all the way through the pregnancy as I didn't want it to close up. The standard bar felt uncomfortable at about 4 months so I swapped it to a maternity bar but even this felt uncomfortable and caught on my clothes a lot. I was worried I'd catch it and rip it out so I took it out all together. It didn't close up at all the bar went in fine after DD was born x

I'd had my belly button pierced for a few year when i fell pg - i took it out for a scan and never put it back in. Not going to lie, i've found piercings a pain in the arse with a baby that looooves shiny things - i'd do the same thing again!

I'd had my piercing for 4 years when I got pregnant, and took it out the day I found out. It's horrible now to be honest, and it's never going to look the same again so I haven't had the bar in for two years now.

The hole isn't a hole so much now as it is a slit. When I put the bar back in it hurt and felt uncomfortable, and didn't look right or sit right because of the way the hole had stretched.

Also, and I have seen this happen with others, I got a stretch mark running through where the hole was.

I don't mean to scare you, and there are lots of people who people don't have any change, but just be prepared there's a possibility you will have to retire the piercing post partum.

I will add a picture later for you if you're interested
