Hey, I'm hoping to TTC in late 2014/early 2015. Though, I'd love nothing more than to start now. I was diagnosed when I was 16 (I'm now almost 22), but have had the pain since I was 9. I am currently on diclofinac and paracode (can't take anything stronger, nor can I take straight codine). Also have the mirena coil. Have had 3 surgeries, all within 18 months. Got to the point where they wont operate anymore because it grows back too quickly. Surgeon also told me i had one of the worst cases he had ever seen in NZ -he was the head of the endo department- Have tried zoladex, but it didn't help at all. Am thinking of getting the mirena removed in the next couple weeks so i can begin charting. I know there will be hell to pay when the pain returns full force, but it shall be worth it. Not like theres a risk or getting preg before my planned time (not that that would be an issue), what, whith being a virgin and all. While I do hope pg will help the endo, it's only a very small motivation. I hope all goes well for you lucy_smith, and good luck to all the endo sufferers WTT/TTC. I'm here for any and all of you.

Fair enough at least they are looking after your best interests and not just telling you this is what we are doing which is what my gynaes tried telling me.....i dont think so!!! I think we all worry that endo will affect our fertility but fingers crossed for us all

I too had pain since about 9, I was in and out of outpatients trying to find out what was causing me tummy ache, I'm certain that it was my cells developing into endo cells as I believe mine is caused by misplacement when I was developing in my mothers womb. I didnt like the idea of the coil so I refused it. Im surprised zoladex didnt help because it takes away the hormone that the endo thrives on, were u taking hrt with it? maybe it was ur adhesions stretching. I dont want to come off anything until Im ready to ttc just trough fear of the pain. I understand what you mean, I have the hope of pregnancy helping my condition but its not the reason im doin it it would just be a bonus
hugs to everyone with this awful condition u deserve a smooth pregnancy for what u go through the rest of the time

nope, no hrt. after my 2nd lap, they didnt want me to have another so soon. so they decided to try zoladex for a while. it helped for the first month of so, but the effects wore off too quickly after the first cycle. My GP doesnt want me on any hrt...doesnt even really want me on the pill/depot. this is why they insisted on the coil. I agreed because I was sick of being in bed all but 4 days of the week in agony, and at that time, i was still trying to convince myself i never wanted to be a mother. (I obviously decided to stop trying to fool myself).
