Could I be ovulating?

Hey ladies, I'd love a second opinion.

As I mentioned in a couple of other threads I've been off the pill a few weeks and wondering whether I'll ovulate as I have pcos and wasn't ovulating prior to going on the pill, at least not before I lost weight anyway. We're not ttc yet but have been talking about it so I am keen to know how my cycle is. I've been doing OPKs since a week off the pill. I never normally show any second line at all apart from once on Sunday but it was faint.
Last night I had twinges of pain in the right place to be ovulation pain and this morning my OPK showed a line darker than I'd seen so I took test with me to work. I've attched a picture of the OPK from around 2pm today and wondered what people thought? It's the darkest line I've had thus far!

I've never done a OPK (can't wait though!!) but I'd say it looks like a positive line to my un-experienced eyes!

That test is positive, so if you noticed a temperature shift, they you'll probably O today or tomorrow.

I wish I had been charting my temperature! I need to get a suitable thermometer, any recommendations? I suppose if I get my period in about 2 weeks that will also back up that I'm ovulating. It'll be my first real period in 2 years so I'll start charting properly from that.
Thanks ladies it's made my day to hear that others would read this test as a positive. I am so lucky that I had a doctor who advised weight loss and low gi diet as the best thing for PCOS! Shame she's not my doctor anymore!

I'm sorry to go against the tide here, but that test is negative (assuming the line on the right is the control line). With OPKs, just having a dark line doesn't equal positive. It has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. It's close, I'll give you that, but keep testing, it might get darker, or it just might be normal fluctuations in your hormone levels. I get tests that look like that all the time through my cycle, but when you get a positive, you KNOW!

I agree with Babyzoe - it's getting there, but not dark enough yet. My ovulation tests have all been very light except around ovulation, so maybe you just tested 12 hrs too early - I'd test again in the morning!

i thought the first line was the control line and the second line was the test line therefore it would be positive. i havent tested before but iv used pregnancy tests and i have opks ready and they say control is the first line and second line is test therefore the second line needs to be darker than the first which urs is

Definitely not quite there but getting close! Imo, it is better to get a gradually darker opk so you know to get started bd'ing (when you're trying) rather than going from obviously negative to positive quickly! I also tested three times a day when it got close so I wouldn't miss the surge!

That depends on which way you are looking at it.If she turns it around then the first line would be the control line. The control line is always (well, at least in all the tests I've seen, and I've seen a lot!) furthest away from the dipstick.
