The news of the Royal baby has sent my broodiness into overdrive!

I had my DS just over 5 months ago now and for the last month or 2 I've been getting really broody but we are planning to TTC in April next year whilst we are on holiday to China. DH and I actually had a serious conversation about bringing our TTC date forward as we both would love to TTC earlier than April but as we've now finished paying for our holiday we've agreed to leave it until then so we don't lose out on the money we've paid.

Just watching the breaking news on the BBC and my broodiness has completely gone into overdrive!! Why were we so efficient in paying the holiday off so soon??!!! It's our 2nd wedding anniversary tomorrow and we are going away for the night and I know I'm fertile atm. It's so frustrating that we cant start TTC already!

Pointless post, just wanted to wish Kate and William all the best as new parents, but gosh don't I wish I could crack on with TTC number 2 already!!

I'm from the US, could someone explain to me what the purpose of the royal family is? I mean, isn't your government run by the parliament and Prime Minister? Do they still ahve a political role?

The Queen still has to pass acts of parliament. Queen Elizabeth signs her name to every Act of Parliament before it can become the law of the land, so technically she has final say.

Lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one out there who has gone into broody overdrive over the birth of HRH Prince George!

Amalee - here is a good link for you that explains the role of the Queen and her family http://www.royal.gov.uk/monarchuk/ho...rchyworks.aspx
