What do you need to buy? Setting up for baby...

I know this has probably been asked many times before but what do you need to buy in preparation for a baby?

Thanks x

Why don't you start a pinterest board and pin things as you see them? You can get secret ones.

There's not much you NEED to be honest, just nappies, babygrows, milk and somewhere to sleep. All the rest is superfluous, but nice.

I'd definitely not buy anything yet! Even if you see it in the sale or whatever. Even if you start TTC tomorrow it could be a while before you bring a baby home and technology and fashions change sooooo much with baby things - you wouldn't believe! I got the pram for my first baby, but because we lost him (and then lost his sister) it was another 3 years before we finally brought home our daughter and by that point the pram that we had bought was dated and just didn't work for me by the time she got to a couple of months old.

Much better to plan and research and save. Then you will know exactly what you want when it's time. IMO!

Oh yes, I'm in agreement with you about buying stuff too soon, defo not my thing. We wouldn't buy anything until after scans but certainly won't be buying anything prior to being pregnant. I know some people do but it isn't for us.

I'm just intrigued about what you need and roughly how much things cost that is all.

I may look in to Pinterest, thanks x

I have bought some small items, bought a second hand 9.50 bedside cot, a couple of reusable nappies for a pound each and a manual breastpump, bottles and steriliser for 4.30 so I am only buying stuff that I have found dirt cheap but I wont buy any big items or any brand new items until I'm in second or third trimester.
to previous poster im very sorry for ur losses and congrats on ur child/ren now xxx
