We started NTNP straight away after I stopped taking the pill. My 1st cycle was normal but I've been battling long, irregular cycles since May (I stopped bcp at the very end of March). Everything seems to be settling down now- my last cycle was 43 days, my longest cycle was 73 days and a normal cycle for me is 33 days- so I'm pretty hopeful for this month!!

I came off the pill in August as we weren't really sure when we wanted to start trying and I knew I wanted at least a six month break. We have now decided that we won't be trying until xmas 2011, but I am not going back on the pill as I can't see the point of going back on for six months and then back off again - don't want to risk completely mucking up my hormones

I haven't been on the pill since 2003, but I heard it can take some people up to a year for their body to "wake up" after coming off the pill. Obviously it depends on the pill, and it depends on the person. There's nothing stopping you TTC straight away, but it may not happen immediately.

Good luck to you all

I am stopping the pill on new years eve, and we are going to start ttc april time, just before we get married, I want to give my body a bit of a break, but thats my personal choice.

I agree - that's the very reason I'm trying straight after I come off the pill. Don't want to waste that super fertile period!!!!

Came off in Oct, WTT till Feb. Wanted a few months to get an idea of what my cycle is like before trying. That and the fact that my prescription was up and I didn't want to go get another!

This is similar to me. I came off in September as was too lazy to get repeat prescription and OH suggested we should ttc but since last month we decided we should really wait until after we are married in September and I don't see the point in messing my hormones up even more by starting back on the pill again for less than a year.

Hopefully by the time we ttc next year my cycles will be normal as first cycle off the pill was 48 days and so far on my 2nd cycle I am on cd38 with no sign of af.

Hoping to start trying to conceive September so will be coming off the pill three or four months before in June/May... hopefully it wont take too long to get back into a proper cycle. Ive been taking Yasmin for four years now, does how long you've been taking the pill affect how soon you get back into a routine??
