yes i agree, childcare is very expensive, i think i will be lucky to be able to be a stay at home mum, and doing my photography work part-time otherwise we would be having to wait even longer till TTC.

We are going to start saving just after Christmas, I can only financially have 3 months maternity and that would be including my 6 weeks at full or 90% and using my 4 weeks holidays, then saving that bit for the 2 weeks. While doing this we are going to save for all the things we will need for the baby. We are going to start trying in June.

Even though our SMP isn't that great, we are lucky to have the option! America have it badly!

Yes it is quite bad, it says that you have the option of full or 90% for your first 6 weeks. I know definitely mine will be 90% my work will do ANYTHING to save a couple of pounds. I would love to have 6 months off as I really don't want to miss out on some of the most important moments but I just cannot afford it, I just have to keep thinking when the time comes 'I am working to provide a roof over my childs head and food in their stomach'.

Hubby and I are waiting... for 2 MORE WEEKS

we WERE going to wait until next year... until we could afford it but broodiness hit me soo bad.

We have researched a lot and we need 1500 to buy all our baby stuff (pram, bot bed etc etc ) and for me to take 10 months off on maternity leave, we need another 1,500 to top up my pay so 3,000 in total.

We are saving 200 a month as fo january when xmas is out of the way
