Shall I just start now......?!!

Hi everyone! I'm on cd 8 at the moment, and dh and I have agreed to start ttc next cycle but just so tempted to go for it this cycle!! He's away tonight but after that it could be all go...... should I do it?! The only thing that puts me off is the due date which would be the end of August (school year etc)

Any thoughts?!!

Well its completely up to you, i'm also in 2 minds as to whether to just go for it now as i'm due to OV in 7 days but if I was to conceive the baby would be due in august which obviously means being youngest in the year. I'll also OV at the end of December so dont know whether to just wait till then. As for you, you can only do what you feel is right. whats your gut telling you?
x

When you have your baby in your arms the month they are born in wont matter at all.
A lot of people have reservations about August babies and their development yet I was an August baby (at two months premature) and (Not meaning to blow my own trumpet) but I have an above average IQ and gained nine GCSEs, 4 A grade A Levels and currently doing a degree. It never stopped me!!! Go for it!!!

Sounds like you're pretty much the same cycle and thoughts wise as me. My logic is, if we conceive next month, the baby could be early and be born in August anyway, but if we conceive this month there's every chance it could be a few days late- into September. In short, I think my gut says yes! I've just got a very positive feeling about this cycle.....

Thank you ERConnell, that's so encouraging it really is. And what a fantastic story, 2 months premature is such a lot. It just shows

Totally agree, I am also an august baby and never struggled with school, my reservations about having an august baby are only that when a child starts school after just turning 4, I feel that they are too young to have all that pressure of school. I dont think as they get older it affects them but I just mean when they're in reception class. My son is a January baby and when he started school you could notice the difference between him and the younger children. I just feel like they're still babies. Saying that I loved being the youngest in the class

I love that you're both August babies! And yes! clever egg indeed!
When they're still so little you can notice the difference so much more, but as you say, the difference gets less and less as they get older.

Thank you so much for your advice. It helps so much to hear valued opinions and experiences xoxox
