Need some ideas....

on how to pre-occupy myself with something so I can stop thinking about babies all day and night for the 5 months!

The broody feeling started in September just after we got married, I thought it would disappear after a couple of weeks but nope 3 months later its still here and seems to be getting worse.

I felt abit broody before we got married but I think because I had so much to arrange for the wedding I didn't have time to think about babies and now I don't have anything keeping me busy the broodiness is actually driving me crazy.

We are planning on buying new furniture for the house along with other house stuff early next year, which I am trying to focus on but it just isn't happening. Now I just feel like my body is just longing for a baby, this may sound really silly but I'm sure I must not be alone with this.

I tried to have a talk with Hubby just to explain how I was feeling, I ended up getting quite annoyed saying 'no you men just don't get it do you, if you had any idea how this makes me feel, I can't jus stop the feeling, trust me I've tried but it isn't going anywhere and seems to be getting worst, oh whats the point in trying to explain you have no idea!' where I had to stop cos I was getting quite teary.

If only I had something else to keep me busy, it won't make the broody feeling disappear but it will at least make the next 5 months not seem such a lifetime away

I feel your pain!! I don't think anything can completely distract you.

My plans to try to lessen it next year are:

1) focus on loosing weight and getting fit
2) learn to knit
3) save money and move house
4) make a wedding scrapbook
5) settle into my new job
6) once in house buy a pet (cat/dog)

plenty to do and think about, still know it's gonna be hard! X

I started focusing on losing weight and my hair. lol As ridiculous as it sounds- my new obsession with getting my hair long AND healthy is time consuming and keeps me off here quite often. (which is needed and liked)

LOL It does. When you have spent a good 5-6 hours reading up on hair care and watching youtube videos about hair styles and how to do them Then you try everything out and you spent like 2 days doing that, you have no time to check here and get all broody again.

My friends giggle because of my new hair obsession.

Im the same with the hair at the minute!! I keep googling 'how to make my hair grow faster' haha! The things I want to do before we ttc are:
  • Lose at least a stone and a half (21 pounds)
  • Grow hair! haha
  • Move into house with extra bedroom
  • Keep working hard
  • Save up!!

Hopefullly this will keep my mind off things!!

I don't have that long to wait but I can assure you that time flies by so fast! As the mom of a 12 and 9 year old I cannot believe how fast it has gone by! I plan on focusing on the holidays!

Men will never understand the sudden onset of broody feelings.

For me - we are decorating an office, hallway and spare bedroom (all going well could turn into a nursery!) and at the moment i am thinking about christmas.

I also love baking, true it is not good if you are trying to loose weight but it can take a whole evening to bake cakes or bread and then it is an evening you arent thinking about a baby. Plus i always think it would be nice to be a mom who can just make anything in the kitchen so all of it is good practice.

Is there any adult education course or something similar you could try at college? I am doing a portrait lighting course in January. It is only 10 weeks but it is something to keep my mind occupied for over 2 months

you could pick a hobby or two and try to become a master @ them! i have picked hand sewing, cuz i want to be able to make baby clothes one day & the others are bicycling & kayaking. there are tons of things for me to learn before i get started so its keeping me focused! good luck tho!
