hello and quick question

Hello everyone, was on here last year whilst pregnant withmy DS, I ended up having a c section at end of march and was advised to wait a year before conceiving again. We really want to start trying in January at least then I can hopefully be over the first 12 weeks before going back to work (I work shifts which is tiring at the best of times). Does anyone know if 10 months after c sec is too early?

I actually don't know, but I'm interested to see some answers.

Edit: I did a quick Google session and found this:

"As a general rule, you should probably hold off on trying to conceive again for 18 to 23 months — about the same waiting period recommended for women who deliver vaginally.

That may seem like a long time, but you've just had major surgery in addition to giving birth and you need to let your body recover and replenish lost nutrients. For instance, you may be anemic because of the iron transferred to your baby and placenta during pregnancy, as well as the blood loss you suffered during childbirth. Women who deliver via c-section lose twice as much blood — about two pints on average — as women who deliver vaginally."

I don't like or agree with that answer! lol

I have read so many different answers from 2 years to just nine months (if you are over 35 9-12 omnths and I am 35 in June) I have also read of people getting pregnant again after 4 months and having no probs at all. Very confused now

I know many women are pregnant again after having a c-section within the past few months. Their docs don't seem too worried..so I'm thinking it will be just fine.

I was told to wait 2 years, but I had complications with my c-section.

A couple I know had their daughter in the September, conceived again in the December and had their son in the August, meaning that both their children are in the same school year! They are always getting confused as twins!

Im not a doctor, but I honestly think that their guidelines are just precautionary, many people conceive again within a smaller frame of time and everything works out fine.. it might just mean that you have to take additional supplements

Good luck

Thanks everyone I'm sure 10 months is a long enough gap as I didn't have any complications.
