Oh Honey it is hard and a high number of ladies on here will understand the place you are in right now.

I hopefully only have another 6 months to wait before TTC but mine has been a long journey (See how long you have had to wait thread if you want to know more, I have just posted there, to long a story to repeat) But no matter how hard it has been and it really has been full tears and tantrums at time. I know it is worth it, I have many things ticked off my to do list and even though travelling or owning a fantastic house is not the be all and end all, it does make life a little bit easier.

When I talk like this I feel very old and realise that perhaps I have left it a little bit longer than I should.

No one can make this decision for you babe but be brave to follow your heart if that is the best thing for you. And if you follow your head I promise when you look back on your long wait it doesn’t feel as long as it does when your looking forward. Take Care. XXX

Good on you for thinking ahead. You have things you want to do, and now is the perfect time. Just think - at least you'll have something to look forward to after you've done your travelling ect.

Just recently I decided that I definately want to have children before I get to mid 30's - i'm 27. One of my very close friends decided to wait before having a baby, and she's just found out she's going through the early menopause - she's 31. She was absolutely devastated. After this happened, I did a bit of research and unfortunately situations like this are on the rise. Young girls are starting their periods now at 9/10 whereas years and years ago girls were starting at 15/16.

I recently had a chat with my mother, who told me that my gran started the menopause at 33 - and that was 40 years ago!

I know how you feel too Cupcake!! I have been wanting a baby since I was 16 (crazy, I know...), but I am wtt also. It is very hard sometimes because you want something that can change your life & provide such joy so badly that sometimes all the reasons against it go out the window. However, I also agree with many of these ladies that there will never be a perfect time. We as humans can always find a reason to or not to do something, so this is just a matter that will require you to consider from every aspect. I wish you luck and that you decide what is right for you!

you can never afford a baby, your house is never big enough, and you are never prepared! haha. i really want to ttc no 3. but we have a holiday to disney world booked in may 2011 and i dont want to be 5 months pregnant when we go. i personally would wait until after you have been bridesmaid (or just before) as that is already planned. the other stuff though...house could take years before you have equity again, i dont think anyone knows what is going on with house prices at the moment. we have just decided to take the plunge and buy a house after waiting 5 years for the market to 'change'! as for holidays, you can still holiday with kids.

However that said...i sometimes wish me and hubby had spent more time travelling and holidaying etc. before having our 2! the benefit of hind sight eh?! we are planning on doing it all when the kids are old enough to leave at home with a full fridge! lol
