Actually though, I remember my first twinges of *want* to be about 6 years ago. I have been really wanting for about 3.5 years and was with the wrong guy. He wasn't ready (didn't have a job, direction or ambition...or desire for kids) So that ended and I got with OH about 1.5 years ago. About 3 weeks after our first date he asked me how many kids I wanted. I said 3. He only wanted 1 but we've decided 2 will be our magic number (here's hoping for twins on our second round!)

Its been getting worse now that we live together. but yes actually 3.5 years that I've been brooding. And about 6 months since its been out of control!
I love the "6 month out of control" comment - so with you there !! Xx

I've always wanted kids and have always said 'not till I've done X or Y', (and I've always been one of those people who checks out maternity pay first off when I start a new job and the contract comes through, just in case!) but I've felt ready and been forcing myself to wait for about 6 months now. So I don't think I've really been waiting that long. But it just FEELS so long!!

Especially when I'd ideally like to wait until my honeymoon, but if I can't manage that then my OH has said Jan 2012 - at least thats only a year off now.

Been waiting my whole adult life! But since my Mr. Right has not come along (had a few close calls but alas, I wind up alone at 38) I made the decision for myself to not wait for my man and become a mom on my own last July. So officially, I've been wtt since last summer. I'm waiting for the clinic to call and in the meantime am saving money (in case it takes more than a few tries), getting my dental work out of the way and on my way to my ideal weight.

Yep...thats when we had been together two years and we both knew how we felt about wanting children. We then decided there and then to save for a house and that, then a while later found bnb...which was 2 years 2 months ago. When you look back it seems to have gone so fast but at the time it goes so slow
