When should I stop taking my pills...

I am currently on Ortho tri sprintec, for really bad acne and Irregular periods(Possible PCOS or Endo). I am planning to finish my last pack in March, have a regular AF in April and TTC in May. I have to go back in to the GYNO b/c I have a vaginal polyp, and my pap was irregular b/c of bleeding so I have to get an RX for vitamins then but I thought it would be nice to know when I'm going to stop taking the pills now since my acne is REALLY bad (it scars).

I was on Ortho-Tricyclen-Lo or however it is spelled and I stopped it Oct 2010. It is now 3 months later and I have yet to have a period (and no, unfortunately it's not because I'm preg...I have took 2 tests).

Long story short I would suggest going off them ASAP to allow your cycle to get back to normal.

I agree with this lady ^

We're planning on ttc in April of this year and I planned to come off it in January (this month) but came off mine in October, plainly because my packets ended and I didn't want to go to the docs for just another two months prescription. I am so glad I did. I had to wait 4 weeks for a period to arrive. Then I waited another 35 days another to come. Thankfully, since, it's looking like I have my normal pre-pill 27/28 day cycle back, but I do recommend coming off it sooner rather than later so you have plenty of time for your hormone levels to get back to normal.

Also, if you haven't yet, when you come off it, start taking 400mcg of Folic Acid per day. As well as obviously being good for your baby when you eventually have one on board it can also help with PMS and your cycles!

I am on the same pills, but I was only taking them so as not to get pregnant. I took my last one Saturday and I am having my first period now...I will see what happens in a month, but when I got pregnant the first time I got a period like regular after coming off them and got pregnant on my second cycle.
I am not trying to get pregnant till this fall, I just wanted off them and also hoping for a *whoops* baby, Dont tell Hubby! Fingers crossed
