Since i was a teenager and watched the soap Another World, I wanted to name my daughter Jensen after one of the actresses. I wasn't quite sure recently though because I thought, what if she's nicknamed Jen or Jenny? I'm NOT a fan of naming my kids after myself (i.e. having "Jr's") and even though it's not exactly my name, I thought it was close enough so it's a no go.

For a boy, I always wanted Grayson but that's a no go too. A boyfriend from my past (who I KNOW had the baby name conversation with me) named his son Grayson last year. Besides, it's becoming more and more popular and I am definitely a fan of uncommon names.

So in searching for new name choices, I have definitely discovered that I like names with 2 syllables and that end in N.

For a girl, I think I am set on Faren (middle name either Bea after my grandma or maybe Elise).

For a boy, I'm unsure tbh. I'm contemplating using Jenson as a boy (with an O instead of an E) but since I've always thought of it for a girl, I don't know... Another option I'm thinking about is Egan. I'm just having a hard time finding one I love as much as Grayson. I may end up going with that after all. This is one of the reasons I'm hoping for a girl! LOL

Sorry for the long winded answer!

Oh and I was going to say... I've looked at books and online (where I found Faren) but lately what I find myself doing is watching the credits on all the movies and shows I watch! Obsess much?

gorgeous fab choices and lists guys i loveeeee looking at names! jenny, i don't think it obsessed, it's 'being prepared'

i too find myself looking everywhere at them, think it's because we're so undecided atm on girls names. we've chosen the middle names and a second 'back up' middle names, but alas, we go back and forth between them, and i'm starting to think it's getting more difficult as i want it to go with maddilynne hope

I love girls' names but don't like many boys' names at all

Girls>>
Carina (I really wanted to name Elyse this.. but OH says it reminds him of that Whoopie Goldberg movie, CORRINA CORRINA.. totally different, Carina is Italian lol)
Peyton
Violet
Sophie (probably will never use as it is very popular)
Ava
Alys, Elsa (won't use -- too similar to Elyse)
Evelyn
Vanessa (OH hated it when I was pregnant with Elyse now likes it)
Elodie

Boys>>
James (OH loves and it's his grandfather's name, it would probably be this one if we had a boy even though I don't like or dislike it)
Dominic (my favourite boys' name but he has an uncle and cousin's hubby with this name so we won't use)

For girls i like:
Florence, Elsie, Martha, Matilda, Sophia, Adrianna.
The middle name is going to be Margaret which was hubbys moms name.

For boys i like:
Albert, Arthur, Eli, Dexter.
The middle name will be Brian, was hubbys dads name.

I have loads more ideas which i keep on a list at work! I am terrible for doing things like searching for a common name like Smith and then seeing what names they use.

I quite like the idea of something traditional but i dont know what my husband likes because he doesnt like to talk about names until we actually get there.

does Carina mean gentle or nice? My auntie always used to say it when we were petting next doors cat in Italy or have a new dress
I love italian names but i want something that isnt too unusual in the UK.

Hey ladies

Some lovely names in this thread.

Just tried to converse with DH whilst reading these and he refuses to discuss names until I am expecting again - sigh!

My namesI like are limited:

Girls - Emily Ruth (pretty settled on this as Ruth was my great nan's middle name too)
Boys - Joseph (DH says NO to this as it's his gramp's name and he doesn't like him )
Joshua (this is my brother's name so not really practical but I like it

I really need help with boys names!!
