BBT and Temp question

Hi Ladies, I am trying to track my ovulation. I just bought a BBT and read the instructions/directions that came with it. The package came with a graph that I could use. Monday morning I took my temp (after a restless night of partial sleep) and my temp was 97.4. I took my temp this morning after a semi restful sleep (I don't sleep well at night) and my temp was 97.4. These temps are not on the graph that was included in the packaging so I am wondering if 1. the BBT isn't working right, 2. if my temp really is that low, or 3. if I am waiting too long to take my temp in the morning. I haven't taken my temp when I first wake up, I take it before I get out of bed.

Hey there

i had the same problem, my temps were so low they were not even on the chart that came with the BBT.

so i just started using fertilityfriend ( http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ ) you can enter your temps there and it creates a chart for you and also tells you when you ovulate (after a 3 days temp rise)

that has worked for me so far. and it's easy to use. But otherwise you can just make your own chart, i did that too at first but then found FF much easier!

good luck with charting

Got pregnant our first month of TTC'ing after 3 months of charting with fertilityfriend! You still have to take temp right though (i.e. first thing in AM, before even getting up to pee!) to be able to use data generated, so keep your thermometer by your bed side and do it even before you get out of bed! Becomes an easy habit. Good luck!

Yea you're right junebug!!

Do you think it was easier for you to conceive because you had experience with your cycles due to the charting? that's what i think/hope because ever since i started charting it has helped me a lot to understand my cycles and i can now literally feel when i am ovulating, so i hope that will be a bonus when i finally get the go ahead

And your little girls looks gorgeous in your avatar

Definitely! I knew I ovulate day 16-17 of my cycle, so our first month of TTC, we on day 15, 16 and 17 and caught the egg!

Thank you, I agree she's adorable!

JuneBug - I just started using Fertility Friend and I'm slightly confused. Is the green square at the bottom when I ovulated or is it the point at which the lines criss-cross? What happens if they don't match up? Which days before ovulation did you try (like 3 days before, 2 days before, every day before, every other day, etc)?

Sorry for so many Q's on this forum, I'm a newbie and can't seem to figure out how to private message.

Hey there, I see the green square too, it doesn't seem to match up 100% to when I ovulated. The month I conceived the green square is on the 16th but I ovulated on the 17th. We had the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of that month, so the 4 days prior to ovulation and the day of ovulation. Sperm lives for over 48 hours in your uterus so it's worth doing it often before ovulation just in case the egg releases a bit earlier than anticipated! So to answer your question, not 100% sure why that green square doesn't coincide with ovulation, sorry

Oh and I think you need to post 5 or 10 times before you can send PM's :-)
