Friend's baby shower

Hi!

I've been invited to my close friend's baby shower, but I don't know what to get as a present! OH and I are both close to her and her hubby, but we're genuinely stumped as to what to get. We don't want to get clothes (or at least not in 0-3months) because we think she'll get plenty, and I thought getting some nappies, cellular blankets, bibs or muslins would be a good idea. But, OH isn't sure because he thinks they'll have that stuff anyway. I tried asking what she wants, but I've not had a response yet.

SO any ideas?

(I'm just loving the excuse to spend hours on the Mothercare website lol)

you could always get clothes in a bigger size for later- would be useful for when she finds bub has nothing to wear cos bub has grown so much! also i dont think you can have to many blankets (think spew & poo) muslins (i read somewhere you could use up to 3 a day!!)

I am requesting:
muslins
baby wipes- can never have to many of these
bath towels
face washers
baby wash
nappy rash cream
i also have a nappy bin & the liners for them can get expensive so i have that on the gift list too

thats all i can think of at the moment but hope that helps!?

did you check to see if she is registered? (you may have said this in your original message, but my tired little eyes don't see it )

even if you don't know specifically where she is registered, you could check universal registries, like amazon or thebump.com, searching just by her name

You can never have too many diapers. Unless she is using cloth than she might not want sposies laying around. Have you considered like a bumbo seat or a boppy pillow if she plans on breastfeeding? Just throwing out ideas.

Books!!
Good sturdy cardboard books are a great baby gift! They are educational, fun, stimulating, and something a lot of people might not consider at first. Everyone needs some books to read to their new little bundle of joy!
Books can last a long time. They'll use 'em for years possibly!

Another idea would be bath toys?

Our friend just had her 2nd baby and we got her bibs as I know you go through millions of those from being with my neices and nephews and also the baby sleeping bag thingys as they are good and she was pleased as she didn't have one that small for him as for her other son he didn't use them until he was much bigger and his were too big for new baby

Thank you all so much for your help!
I love the books idea (I'm quite a bookish person myself), so I think I might get a couple of books and then perhaps a pack of nappies, and some toiletries for baby and mum.

I ordered this today http://www.amazon.co.uk/Animals-Baby...4857071&sr=8-1 half the price it was in Waterstones
