^ Yes you can take folic acid on top of mulitvitamins with folic acid in them.
My doctor wants me to take extra folic acid before TTC as I have very minor spina bifida.

I'm trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies in my diet, I've really been lacking in that for a long while. I want to make healthier eating habits before getting pregnant.

As well, I've got some medical tests and consultations, and possible surgery to remove a dermoid cyst before we TTC, that should contribute to getting healthier.

I had 10 lbs left to lose from my previous pregnancy so started working out with the EA Active 2 on the Wii on December 26th and after 10 work-outs and eating better, have already dropped 1 lb! So 9 to go...

And I've continued taking my prenatal vitamin as well as extra folic acid from my previous pregnancy, I'm still nursing ZoŽ full-time.

I hear you! I had this fear too, so religiously charted for 3 months prior to TTC'ing using www.fertilityfriend.com. Thanks to this, I knew exactly when I was ovulating so we had on days 15, 16 and 17 of our first month and caught the egg!!! I thought for sure it would take a while... You may be as pleasantly surprised as I was

I feel like that too Twag, and there's absolutely no reason for me to think it, I just do! I think it's like anything that you want more than anything. I sometimes get that horrible "thing" in my mind that says "because I want it badly, it'll probably be harder than normal to get because it's me". It's silly really but it's natural to worry we'll be fine

I'm currently eating really healthy, staying active and trying to get my bmi under 30. Stopping smoking is my next venture

Thanks guys, I think my main fear is because I am 30 and going to be 31 this year so I just really worry that time is running out and that it is just going to be harder!

I think I am going to try that fertility friend thing as would be really useful to know what is going on with my body and if it happens as quick as it did for you for me that would be fantastic

I think I am going to start taking my folic acid again now no harm in making sure I am as ready as I can possibly be!
I have cut out caffine did that a while ago, I don't drink alcohol anyway really maybe drink a couple of times a year just find it doesn't agree with me! I am at my ideal BMI so not sure what else I can do really to make sure I am as prepared as I can be

Hun, 30 is young in reproductive years :-) and I am speaking with my professional hat on (I'm a medical geneticist trained in prenatal care and infertility). I'm going to be 38 in June, and when we conceived ZoŽ I was 36 and had no problems whatsoever

Thanks for that kind of put my mind at slight ease, just hear so many sad stories about people older needing IVF and stuff and we could never afford any of that!
Also my mother had early menopause and suffered a lot of miscarriages and was really sick and in hospital, one of my sisters has had miscarriages (6yrs younger) and my other sister (4yrs younger) has had horrible pregnancies with being in hospital sick all the time, I just really worry about my chances!

Also everyone else on here worrying about WTT seems to be a lot younger than I am!

guess I am just being silly
