We emigrated here on the understanding that we would swap houses. But they gave us the bombshell two days ago that they don't want to move at all anymore, so now we're stuck in a poky one bedroom place with a 9 month old baby, and because I was already in the 2WW when they told us this, I could be pregnant at this very second I'm testing on Saturday.

But after the blow of not moving house anymore, we're WTT until we find something else. THe market is really slow here, it could be a couple of years before we find something else
Hi hun, I live in a one bed flat too. We will probably need to TTC before we can move due to not being able to sell straight away. Do you fine having a baby in one bed ok? Would you say its a good idea to go for it in a one bed?

Hopefully things work out but in the meantime, you should peruse Apartment Therapy and check out all of the small and functional home designs they have featured there! It's amazing what some people have done with minimized living spaces - and many of these people have children AND pets. Some of the more interesting apartments are less than 300 SQ FT!

Yesyesyes, this is pretty much our main reason for waiting. We're in a rented 3 bed house just now, which would be fine if we had a newborn, except for the damp in the master bedroom, urgh (getting that fixed next month though, woohoo! ).

However I have a lot of homework for work, and that isn't likely to change, so we'd really like to upgrade to a 4-bed place, or a 3-bed with an extra downstairs room for an office, before we start TTC. We've moved around enough the past few years, we want somewhere we can stay in for many years, now! We'd love to buy our own place, and we're about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way there with saving up for a deposit and fees, I think, so I'm hoping it will be no more than a couple more years before we can get to the baby-making!

I've started getting really broody the past couple of months, even though part of me still wonders if I'm ready for babies and for my life to change so much. I suppose lots of people go through that though, don't they?

Yeah, it's a big reason. We're currently living with OH's mum so we can save for a house. Once I get a better paid job lol (whenever that will be) we can buy
