Can i egg share if my mother had cancer lwc swanea


Hi everyone, i have decided finally to do the icsi with egg sharing, my question is this - Can i share my eggs as my mother died age 41 from bladder cance, it says on the lwc website there must be no hereditary disorders which bladder cancer is not, but some egg share sites say no genetic disorders which cancer im pretty sure is, Im so confused, i dont want to fork out the consulation fee, blood tets etc etc only to be told im no able to share my eggs as my mother had cancer, there is no other history oof cancer in our family apart from her, your help would be much appreteiated xxxxxxx

Most cancers are NOT hereditary (meaning going from one generation to the next). Only about 5% of cancers are inherited from one generation to the other. The basis of cancer is genetic, yes, where cell growth becomes uncontrolled due to the ACQUIRED damage to a cell growth gene. So I think you're OK :-) (I am a medical geneticist and counsel patients with hereditary cancers for a living, in case you're wondering! )

i really not sure as said above most cancers aint hereditary but good luck with it x

thanks guys, the clinic got back to me and said its ok, all i need now is my fsh levels to come back below 8 xx
