prenatals!

When are you going to start taking prenatals? And what brand?

I am going to ttc the end of June. So I am going to start prenatals 3 months before which is the end of march. Im trying to decide whats the best over the counter prenatal to take? Has anyone heard anything good about spring valley prenatals, or womans one a day prenatals?

It depends! You'd have to check the amounts of everything. Among other things, non-prenatal vitamins may have too much Vitamin A, or not enough folic acid.

I've been taking Centrum Forte for a few years now, and just switched to a generic prenatal. Forte was actually decent as a prenatal, but has lutein and lycopene added, neither of which have had any testing on whether they're safe in pregnancy. Plus it has a massive list of non-medicinal ingredients (including BHT and red colorant), and I'd like to cut back on preservatives and dyes!

I've been taking prenatals for a few months now...never too early to start those. Some places are even recommending up to a year before! As others said brand doesn't matter, just check what's inside!

I will start taking them as of next month and we plan on ttc in May. I will take the same ones I took last time which are the Sanatogen pre natal vitamins that contain the recommended daily amount of folic acid plus a lot of other recommended vitamins. I found them great, they didn't upset my stomach or anything and they weren't too expensive, I used to get 3 for 2 in boots. Then once I fell pregnant I switched to Sanatogen mother to be ones.

X

I take the Jamison kind that are easy on the stomache because I have a sensitive stomache, but I still find I have to take it with a meal or the Zinc gives me a tummy ache.
