A bit of enouragement, what it feels like to have waited for the right time

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me posting this, I've not been around since I've been WTT (had to keep myself busy to take my mind off it, I'm sure you know how that feels!) really so missed this forum unfortuntately but just wanted to share a few words which might help. I know you are all waiting for different reasons.

I waited to TTC for 9 months after my mc, despite at times being SO desperate and needy for a baby, it was soooo hard, all my friends were having babies, even my dh wanted one, and I'm not exactly too young, 27 with good job, house, car etc! I cried loads about it, I've been grumpy, moody and miserable at times! A lot! Christmas and new year was hell - my 'should be' due date and 3 newborn babies amongst friends!

BUT I 'knew' it was right to wait - getting my cycles back into a good pattern, making sure I was 'over' my mc (I wasn't, it hit me 6 months on), studying, little bit of unwanted debt, finishing house for a move and lots of other little things.

Now the time has come for me to TTC but I just want to tell you how it feels, I thought I would just be excited but actually I feel SO PROUD I waited, I feel like when I do conceive I have given my baby the best start, I'm not in the slightest bit stressed, I'm so sure now and feel so happy, calm and content about the whole idea.

I hope I haven't rambled, but just want to say I admire you ladies for waiting for the right time and I just want to promise you that it's worth it beause when the time comes you will feel so proud of yourselves, I have this huge air of 'I did it!' about me, honestly, it feels like one of the most amazing things I've done!

You're an inspiration to me! When I decided to TTC my second, I went barging in, and ended up conceiving the first month. I was 25 and had only been with my DP for 2 months but after a false alarm a month before, we both realised that we wanted a baby. Looking back at it now, she should have waited due to many reasons but despite that, I don't regret having my little angel (who is now 4).

I have been broody for number 3 for 18months now but it isn't the right time. I initially wanted to wait until I had passed my driving test and I acheived that sept last year. A month later I had my coil taken out and intended on TTC at Christmas but due to personal reasons, it got put on hold. I'm going to be 30 in March so decided to wait til after my birthday and then my DP booked a trip to Scotland on May 1st so will probably wait til after then. Plus, I need to lose some weight LOL.

Good luck for TTC and I hope you get your BFP really soon. I hope to be joining you soon.

Hayley xxx

It's great you feel that way

I feel the same about my life-it's not similar, in that i haven't experienced a loss, but i do feel proud that i waited until the 'right time' to have a baby. I have been beyond broody since i was practically born. I've been in serious relationship ssinc i was 15 and at times i was tempted to stop using contraception and see what happened but i fgured i shoudl achieve all i wanted toi achieve before trying for my longed for baby. So i went to uni, got my degree, got into the career i wanted to, got engaged, bought a house, got married and THEN started TTC.And although there were times that my broodiness almost killed me, i wouldn't change any of it now.And like you i knew that when my baby was born, i would have done everything i could do make a lovely life for him (and us)!
