Not quite sure but i think you need to have worked for 5 months? Ring HR so your boss does not need to know. Is there anything about it on the Agenda for Change website?

Iv been working for the NHS for nearly 6 years now. Its 2months full pay, 4 months half pay with SMP (which i think works out about 125 a week) then 3 months of just SMP.

Hope this helps.

Yes that's what I am getting now it's handy if you can do nights/weekends and overtime as well in the months before you take mat leave as it is calculated on what you have been earning not just your yearly salary which makes a massive difference xxx

hi.

You need to check you policy in your trust. The trust i work for has a slightly diff pay for those that have been in the NHS over or less than yr but also differs depending on how long you worked for the trust.
For ex. If you work in NHS over yr but have simply moved trusts mat pay may differ. I have been in trust >2yrs and NHS>3yrs so i have the same as above. I was considering moving trusts but i get a better pay having been in trust longer so decided to wait until after baby to move.
Hope that makes sense. NHS mat pay is quite a good package compared to other jobs, if you look on intranet should have policies there that way no one needs to know you are enquiring.

Good luck. x
