Did I do this wrong...anyone?

Hellooo

So 27 and WTT, make that GVITT (getting very impatient to try)

Although husband and I spent time discussing it, when it came to coming off the pill (been on it 7 years, can't believe that much time has passed) I didn't really think about how I should be doing that, so I just stopped, think I was midway through pack (Noriday)

Whilst on it I haven't gotten any significant periods to speak of (which doc said was fine). So now its been over a month and I've only just gotten 'something', brown stuff (sorry if thats too much info). I'm not worried about what that is.
But I am worried that because I came off pill earlier than I maybe should have done, that I've messed up my system more than it would have been.
And really hoping it doesn't mean things are going to take longer.
I want to have at least one normal period before TTC, and probably should have more than one, but really don't want to have to wait that long.
So hoping I have normal period soon.
I guess Im just venting really.
But anyone else not finish their pack and still waiting or got regular reasonbly quickly?

I also know that although its recommended its not necessary to get periods before you TTC, but I wanted to do things right (even though I maybe didn't in the first place grr!)
So did anyone just TTC without pause after stopping BCP?
I know everyone is different but just looking for some feedback whatever that is.

thanks

Hello Thanks for the lightning speed reply!
Oh ok so was 3 months for you. Guess I'll just have to try and be patient. When you are thinking about trying you never thing about this limbo part of WTT! I would have started the waiting much earlier if I had realised.
May I ask what you waiting for now?

Hiya and welcome to wtt!

I was 27 too when I came off bc after 12 years. I didn't stop midpack but we did just start ttc straight after I had a small withdrawal bleed and I never got another period as I fell pregnant right away.

I wouldn't worry about your body being messed up cos you stopped the pill midpack, I think whenever you stop the pill it's gonna take time for your body to adjust to not being on it. You'd be fine to ttc right now if you wanted and possibly even more fertile (my dr told me I'd be at my most fertile straight after coming off the pill, I guess he was right), but if you want to wait till you know your cycles then I'm sure it won't take too long for your body to get back on track!

Good luck!

X

No problem Im not saying it will be 3 months for you, for me it was due to my hormones being a complete mess Maybe have a word with your doctor/nurse? Start thinking about taking folic acid if you want to start trying ASAP Originally we were going to start TTC in June/July but my OH doesnt feel ready to try yet so i dont know now TBH x

mm well not sure my hormones are pariculatly 'tidy' haha but I'll try to wait to see what happens.
Ive just started a few days ago taking pregnacare stuff you can take when WTT too, makes you feel like you are doing something at least.
been torturing husband with 'one born every minute' recently haha and I think seeing the new fathers weeping has done the rest of the persuading.

and Im guessing you have an amazing healthy baby Summer right?
Thats also good to know, thanks so much for replying. I'll feel better if I can't be patient anymore, and also (TMI warning), the other kind of contraception is not too enjoyed by the husband so he'd be pleased to be rid of 'those'.
I'll try wait bit longer for now though!

eesh sorry if i shared too much there!

I don't think the stopping midpack will have any different effect on your body. It will probably just take time to adjust because you've been on the pill for 7 years.
Some bleeding after a month and a half seems to be a good start! Hopefully next month you'll have an even better period.

I know some people don't have even any sign of a period for a couple months after stopping the pill.

I can't speak from personal experience because I've only been on birth control for a little while and whenever I've stopped I've been regular right away.

Haha, you're welcome and don't worry about too much info - bnb is the place for all that stuff and I've read much much more graphic things than that!

And yes, I have a beautiful daughter Summer. We never expected it to happen so fast but it couldn't have worked out any better, we're now just wtt for number 2 in May!

X

Hi,

I stopped the pill part way through the pack last time as I was too impatient and I got a small brownish bleed and then fell pregnant before I got another! when I got my bfp I had only been off the pill for 5 weeks and I was 4 weeks pregnant!! so I dont think it messes up your body any more than normal, I still got my bfp pretty quickly!
