Hi xclairx,

Just wanted to share my experience to perhaps set your fears and anxiety at ease I too watch One Born Every Minute and it freaks me out too and I gave birth 7 months ago! I was SO SO scared of labor and had a close friend who had a horrible experience just 4 weeks before I was due, so that didn't help. Turns out it was so much easier than I thought, I was in labor for an entire day without really knowing it, my DH came home and I told him I was having tightening and cramping in my stomach/uterus and he's a doctor so he was like "you're in labor!" lol. I labored on my own, drug-free for 10 hours overnight and the doctor decided to give me pitocin the next morning to help increase the contractions, I got my epidural just before the pitocin, which to me didn't even really hurt, just felt like your typical needle stick in the back, then it feels like pressure, like someone is pushing something into your back, kind of weird, but not painful to me. After that, I was in heaven! I was fully dilated within in 3 hours of pitocin, I pushed through one contraction, 3 pushes total, and my son was born!

I wish you lots of luck in your upcoming marriage and eventual pregnancy, labor, delivery and motherhood

Thank you for your reply, sounds like you coped really well during labour hope i can do the same. I suffer from anxiety anyway and you are so right when you say about the mind goes into overtime, so true! I just think of all the worst scenarios and concentrate on them instead of the good.
I am so excited to actually become a mum and have our own little family i need to train myself to concentrate on that.
I never thought about them showing the worst one's to boost the ratings either, thanks hun that somehow puts my mind at ease a little
No worries, Childbirth really is an amazing experience, as weird as it sounds, i enjoyed it so much, as at the end you get an amazing reward that money really cant buy. Positive attitude, and by the time you come to TTC after your wedding you should be ready both physically and mentally to put your body through pregnancy and labour.

Thank you for sharing your experiences Its good to hear some not so dramatic stories. I think i will definatley try the epidural as just the thought of having one seems to make me less anxious.
Glad your labour went well for you. I am so excited most days but then this overwhelming fear just takes over! Hopefully i will cope better than i think i will when the time comes (fingers crossed).
Thank you xx

EMZY i have checked your recent posts & they all say you r really broody & want to have a baby & be a teen mum.... My advice, grow up a bit 1st!! This site is for genuine people to talk about genuine circumstances not try & get some attention. Now if you could remove yourself from my post that would be great!
