Folic Acid...

Hi everyone!!
I'm still waiting but it's getting closer :-)

I'm just wondering if there's any harm in starting on folic acid now? ( maybe hoping to concieve early next year)

Also I'm crap at taking tablets!!! I dance around the kitchen if I try and take a paracetamol! Does anyone know which brand makes the smallest folic acid tablet?

Thank you xxx

I can't help with size of tablets but I can definitely say it's a good thing to have it in your system a few months before you start TTC! I've always just taken prenatals that have folic acid in them. So I'm getting all the good stuff from just one pill.

Hi Taking Folic acid for a year before you conceive has been shown to reduce premature birth so it's a good thing and it wont do you any harm and it is pretty cheap. So why not. I get mine from superdrug and they are small about 4-5mm, much smaller than a paracetmol. Good Luck.

Hiya, i spoke to my doctor awhile ago and he said all women should take folic acid or atleast a multi vitamin with folic acid daily as unexpected pregnancies are so common.

I took mine for about 9 months before i fell pregnant/started trying and i still take them lol LO is 20 months! xxx

I am not TTC until Aug-2012 (was going to be Aug-2011) but think I am going to continue to take them especially with being older too
