Do you ever worry that something will happen which means you can't...?

Other than age, which is always a big concern for me about waiting longer, I also really worry that something will happen which means that we can't have a baby... I know there are always options depending on your circumstances, but I hate the idea of not being able to have my own little baby...

My sister has a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer at my age a few years back. Thankfully she has now been given the all clear, and thankfully she already had one little one, but following the effects of the treatment, it's unlikely she'll be able to have more. They discussed having eggs frozen, but in the end there wasn't the time as she was rushed through to treatment. They're always thankful that they had already had their first. I've been refered to a breast unit in the past, but thankfully the lumps weren't bad.

My other half went to the docs last week as he has a lump down below...he had an ultrasound on it a few days later, which didn't show anything, and he's been refered back to the GP for further investigation... Of course, the most important thing is that he's ok, but I couldn't help but worry that if there was something wrong it would ruin our chances to have a family.Does that make me selfish? OH has already previously said that if he couldn't have kids he wouldn't want to go down the other routes...

I'm sure nothing will show up with OH, but I do worry that something might happen to one of us which'll mean we can't have kids if we keep waiting...

OMG Yes i have these exact thoughts.

I mean obviously with age comes proneness to disease and fertilityproblems and all that shit that nobody asks for....

I too get those feelings that what if sth happens and then you cannot go thru with ttc
i really don't wanna put it off till later and then find myself in a situation where sth comes in the way and then regret it... but then again the situation has to be right, i wouldn't just wanna go ahead now because im scared of what might hypothetically happen

i hope your sister is alright too!

I think this quite a lot... Don't mean to sound morbid but I always think that what if I waited until October (our ttc date) and then walked out of the house that morning and got run over my a bus?! What was the point in waiting?
But as aubreee said, you cant live your life thinking about what might hypothetically happen or else everyone would be running riot on the earth doing whatever they wanted because It could be their last day!

I've just realized that my post seems quite ridiculous! Oh well!

i worry about this, even though age isnt really an issue for me at the minute...im just terrified that it wont happen for me, and i just wont be able to get pregnant for some reason. i think its probably a worry most women have when they are thinking about TTC. xx

I worry about this too, and my OH does too but still as he is male he is going with his sensible head and making us wait!

I also worry that my cycle is 23 days long which means I loose more eggs some months 2 which when we TTC will be great but whilst we are not I feel like I am loosing too many and that might mean I will run out sooner

I worry about so much and all the what if's and I am not TTC yet! I think I might end up a nervous wreck when we do actually start TTC!!

i think i do his head in with it actually...although we are waiting for several sensible reasons, he just seems a lot happier to be waiting than me xx

I always worried i would end up being infertile and just never get pregnant and never be able to carry a baby which was quite an upsetting idea for me. However on a good/bad note i got pregnant and misscarried last year. So therefore i know i am fertile because i got pregnant and obviously it was an awful time when i miscarried but i know thats only because i managed to get pregnant on the coil :/ so have the coil fitted was what caused me to miscarry. x

I worry about these things too especially since I haven't had a period since April and now have to take meds. I hope all will be alright. I also have nightmares about my OH being infertile. We have never tried so really we will just have to wait and see.
