Hiding the Bump

Hey!

I was just sitting here wondering how I plan to hide my bump when I'm (hopefully) expecting for the first 12 weeks.

Has anyone else thought of this? What do you plan to do to keep your bump a secret?

Just trying to keep my mind busy while I wait...

Hey,

When I was pregnant with my dd my first 12 weeks were over the winter so it was freezing so I was always wrapped up in lots of layers so although by 10 weeks I had a noticeable small bump you couldn't see it unless I was only wearing one tight layer.

This time we'll be ttc in May so IF we fall pregnant straight away again I'll have my first 12 weeks over the summer period so I can hopefully get away with lots of floaty style tops.

Once we tell everyone though I'll be showing off my tiny bump all the time!

Generally though the first 12 weeks or so will be pretty easy to hide, Im a tiny framed size 6 and had the flatest of flat toned stomachs and even when I had my bump nobody could notice it under clothes!

X

I am hoping it won't show too much in the first 12 weeks as I will not be telling work until after my first scan or anyone else for that matter unless they notice lol

I am planning on just wearing more loosly fitting clothes to try and cover it, we are due to TTC in Aug-2012

I had no change at all in my stomach til around 20+wks. I put on some weight from 16+wks. No noticeable bump til 24wks+. I told work at 19wks. And I am a slim size 10.

I have just started ttc number 2, but hear you can often show earlier 2nd time round.

Not being pregnant before I was not aware how soon you do/don't start showing so it is good to know I guess that you don't really start showing until later on that 12 weeks

thanks ladies

By the time I was 20 weeks pregnant I had a HUGE bump! I was constantly getting comments when I told people I was only 20 weeks. I showed at 10 weeks, by 12 weeks it was more pronounced and by 16 weeks it was a proper mini bump.
But my cousin didn't show at all and was flat as a pancake until nearly 27 weeks!

Everyones different though, some women will carry a lot of water which could give them a bigger bump etc.

Youll always get comments about how you're too small or too big for however far along you are!

Like mummytosummer says every woman is different. Im size 14/16 and I didnt show untill I was about 24 weeks. Got comments from the midwife about it all the time untill then. Asking If I was eating and so on :S I ate 5-6 times a day but I do confess it was in smaller portions than before. I lost my appetite for candy and so on the first months. So I lost weight in the beginning but never got to where I started. I used my clothes untill I was about 5-6 months pg then I started to use maternity cloths with my own.

Some say you show more with baby nr 2. When my motherinlaw was pg with my Oh (he is her number 4) she didnt show untill she was 7 months pg! And he was a big child hehe think 4,5-5 kg and 57cm! She told her older children she was expecting when she was 8 months pg and the oldest was 12 years old! She should have noticed hehe. And my motherinlaw was very petite and slim.

This I am super worried about. I am very small framed. I am 5'1" tall and weigh just barely 100 pds. I think I am going to show almost right away. I have a flat tummy and wear mostly tops that fit just right.

I figure I am just going to have to wear alot of empire waisted tops/sweater dresses - which I do wear now but will just have to start wearing them more often. Which just might blow my cover right there. It should be fall/winter so hopefully it wont be too hard.

I don't know but I just hope and pray I don't get big right off the bat.
