Thanks everyone!
I can see that this board will be VERY useful as I would love to be able to keep my mouth shut and so if I can go on about it on here then thats good enough for me!! (I hope, lol )
We are waiting to try asap to be honest. We had thought that I was pregnant as had so many signs and then was late...(we werent trying)...then when my period came we realised how sad we were that I hadnt in fact been pregnant and it dawned on both of us that we were ready to start a family. We are very excited!
It wont be a long wait before ttc though thankfully as Ii am waiting for my damn period to stop now!
This really is a great board, so glad I found it!

DH and I are are WTT until August. We have each told a few of our friends but do not intend on telling ANY family members. We don't want the pressure and we really want it to be a surprise. This board definetely helps with the times I want to just blurt it out to everyone!

Another thing that really helps is I have been researching fun ways to announce a pregnancy to family. I don't want to just say oh I'm pregnant. I want it to be fun and memorable. I think we have decided to tell our parents by taking them out to dinner. We will either have special menu's made for the waiter to give our parents that have the announcement in them. Or (my fav idea) we will all sit and have the waiter bring out a highchair with pink and blue balloons attached and have the waiter say "I hear you will be needing this soon." I think that idea is so neat. As for the rest of the family we're still planning.

I've told my best friend (who is also WTT) and that has helped because at least we have each other to talk to and get excited with...it definitely makes the waiting easier to deal with. I will probably tell her when we are trying and (hopefully) when we are expecting just to help me get through the first 12 weeks.

I am happy to tell people but it is because we are WTT for #2 which just seems different somehow. I have basically said that we are waiting until a few months before I leave Uni to start trying again but people knew I wanted two and that I do not want to be doing it after 30 and I am 26 now so they could figure it out anyway I guess. I told people I was pregnant before 12 weeks with DS too but only because I had already had 2 MMC's so knew from experience I would end up telling friends and family if I had another anyway for the support. However I did not tell anyone except my 2 best friends when we started to TTC DS.

Hi Apollo and all you other lovely ladies

Me and my df have 2 dd's the first was actually conceived while we were living in Tenerife!!! We are now ttc#3 and haven't told anyone yet oh except he told his dad the other night and i wasn't very happy as we discussed that we would keep it quiet till i had actually got pg! Anyway he was sooo excited to tell someone so I just hope i get caught soon.

It's actually doing my head in to not tell anyone though as I'm so excited we're ttc!! So now its just the waiting game. After i got my bfp with our first d we said we wouldn't tell anyone till i was 3 months and i went to work one day came home and all his friends were congratulating me because he had gone and told them as he was so excited haha.

xxx

Well, this is VERRRRRY hard for my dh and I because we both come from rather large families. We are both from families with 4 kids. I am very close with my baby sister & tell her most everything, so it is very hard not to tell her when we will begin ttc! Although, like some have already stated, my main strength comes from wanting it to come as a surprise! I am wanting to do something creative to let our close family & friends know when we get pg!

@ parker_podge that's a great idea to do something creative when u actually get pg.
Both me and my partner are from big extended families I have 6 bil's and have 1 sis and 3 brothers and we are really close so i feel awful when we talk and i cant tell them we're ttc till it actually happens x

@ apollo the last time I went back to Tenerife was 2002 and there was loads of redevelopment going on so we always talked about going back to see how much its changed as we still have friends out there. Who knows if we get chance to come back in yrs to come might pop in and see you but the way things are if i do get pg it looks like caravan holidays in the uk for the near future lol x
