Stretch Marks

Hey!

Is anyone worried about getting stretch marks while pregnant? If so, are you doing anything to try to prevent them? I'm using Palmers Cocoa butter at the moment but plan to start using bio oil during my pregnancy.

Has anyone used any of these in the past and if so did they make any difference?

Thanks!

I used the palmers one while pregnant, it did literally nothing for me and I got loads of stretch marks. however afterward while losing the weight i used bio oil and it does reduce the appearance of them, so I think it would probably work to stop them appearing too. Expensive stuff though lol x

i did a bit of research back along and it seems to be a specific ingredient in bio oil and other top market products that reduce appearance. palmers cocoa doesnt have it though. i dont think ill use palmers even though i have a huge pot as my friend said it didnt work either.

Hiya,

I was worried about stretch marks too as I'm tiny. I used palmers and then bio oil towards the end (last 8 weeks) and I carried on using bio oil a few months after the birth and I'm happy to say I have not a single stretch mark and I had a huge bump!

I don't know if it was down to either of those things but I'd use them both again. My friend however used bio oil from day one of her pregnancy and ended up covered in stretch marks. My mw said that some women are just more prone to getting them and often if your mum had them so will you. Not sure how true that is though!

My friend is really proud of hers though and calls them her baby lines. I think that's how I'd look at it if I ever got them, without them you wouldn't have your beautiful baby!

X

There are cheaper versions of bio oil (is it rescue oil?) available in aldi, home bargains, and maybe wilkos.

I used bio oil when I put weight on at uni and got stretch marks on my thighs, it works great! Coco butter smells really good though

So glad this subject was brought up!
I too am terrified of the things!!
Im slim and have always kept on top of my weight so the thought of getting big is scary enough without having lasting impressions of it.
I used a cheaper version of Bio Oil a couple of years ago when I had surgery to try and reduce the scars....its didnt do much and luckily being in the sun all the time has taken care of it fairly well (better than the oil stuff anyway).
However I think that in this istance I will be stocking up on bumper bottles of Bio Oil as I would rather fork out a bit of cash now than regret it forever more.

I couldn't bear the smell of the stuff, and used Boots Sanctury instead, but neither of them works, and I have quite a few marks tbh.
