Pregnant on holidays

What do you guys think of getting pregnant and then going on holidays. We were initially going to start TTC in May but we have booked a weeks holidays to Ireland in May and to the Algarve in June. I was thinking we could keep our TTC date but then I was thinking that it wouldn't be such a good idea to try and get pregnant and then up pregnant in holiday. My main concern is what if I miscarried in a foreign country. I think we will have to wait until we're back. I think that would be cleverer. What do you guys think?

I don't want to sound harsh or offend but i think in my oppinion your over thinking it a bit. I'd leave the TTC date where it is and carry on with you holidays. You never know having a holiday and being more relaxed and enjoying yourself may help you more than hinder. If you planned everything around the possibility of a MC you'd never TTC x

Personally id keep the date. Ive had a MC before and it took until 12 weeks to happen (its a year today actually) and i did everything by the book. Ive also had a successful pregnancy. For the successful one i took a long flight from the US to the UK by myself about 4-5 weeks, ate a dodgy burger in the airport and ended up sitting on the plane toilet for 25 minutes and ate pretty much what i wanted and worked 6 days a week. I found less worrying worked out better for me. Good luck for whatever month you decide

I'd def keep it, if you TTC may then at most your going to be what 1 - 2 months pregnant in the June hol. That is sooo early!

I may think different if you were going on some kind of trek and camping etc coz of possible morning sickness etc. But you'll be fine where you are.

X

I think you're overthinking too. The chances are you won't miscarry if you do get pregnant so try and not worry about that. I'm going on holiday in June when I'll be 17 weeks

This is a slightly different 'take' on your question
I went to Corfu when I was 12 weeks pregnant.
I found it frustrating not being able to drink lots of alcohol sometimes, or do adventurous sports. Also if you get morning sickness, that'll be another downer for your holiday.
You might not mind about any of this, in which case go for it! Dont let the risk of miscarriage put you off. Its unlikely to happen, and youre not going to the 3rd world!
As it'll probably be your last holiday without a LO, you might decide you want to 'let your hair down'. If that's the case, you'll want to postpone your start date for ttc xx

Hi Aprilshowers! I don't think you're overthinking things, just planning ahead. We have a holiday booked for April and we chose not to try before it because I wanted to enjoy our last holiday without the possibility of any 1st pregnancy anxiety. I know the odds of getting pregnant on your first month of trying are pretty slim but I do love to let my hair down on holiday and enjoy a few cocktails and I wouldn't want my thoughts to be consumed by pregnancy. We are treating it as out last (hopefully) big blow out just the two of us and we can't wait - planning to ditch the protection on holiday too!!
