I don't think it's selfish. A baby is a gift no matter when it is born and shouldn't be treated any differently just because of when it is born people who say 'oh I can't afford to get x a present' but expect one at their birthday in June or whatever really get my goat

Rant over!

My birthday is in december and all too often ive had family members either forget or only acknowledge one occasion. But i think one thing that would make my decision when to ttc next is how far along i would be during the summer months. From about 6 months pregnant i was boiling hot all the time. I didnt even wear a coat in the dead of winter half of the time and i never slept with any form of covers because i was so hot. So i definitely want that stage of pregnancy to be during the winter again. Not sure if that happens to everyone but its definitely a deal breaker for me so i wouldnt be ttc for an early december baby.

My birthday is Dec 31, so a baby would be an awesome Christmas present! I think it would be fun to have a new baby to show to all the family since we are all together at that time of year. But if I think selfishly, I don't want to be due around the holidays because then I might miss the festivities!

I dont think it's selfish.

My birthday is New Years Eve - dec 31 and i dont mind that its around xmas time. When I was younger I got a little skimped on presents () becuase it was so close together, but I didnt mind.

I loved having my birthday on a holiday for the most part but now that I am older I dont exactly like it because no one knows its my birthday they just think Im dressed up and partying because its new years!!

maybe im the selfish one, wanting birthday attention..........oops!!

It is in the way you handle it. Though, I don't think it's selfish to wait, either.

Hey I always said that I would never want a christmas baby - my sisters b'day is the 27th dec and she hates it. BUT after my M/C in Dec I couldn't miss this month out so I might end up with a Christmas baby!!

Id actually choose to have a Nov/Dec baby.
With LO (born in May), I didnt really 'come up for air' for the first 3 months of his life - it was such a shock to my system! Therefore if number two is born in Winter, by the time I have got through the first 3 months again, Spring would be here and I would be much better placed to appreciate it ha ha! xx
