Delayed ttc plans

Some of you may have seen my post a few weeks back about the earthquake damaging our house and that if our house needs to be bulldozed it will put off our ttc date even longer. Anyway so we had a builder around to look at the house and he said it pretty much needs to be bulldozed, we just have one more person to look through before they decide for sure that they will bulldoze it. The bonus is we will get a new house built but the bad side is that it probably wont happen for 2-3 years so we are going to have to live with people and we can't have a baby if we are staying with people. The insurance company gives you a year free rent if you have lost your house but then we will have to stay with people after that. OH said we can start ttc once our house starts getting built but that is ages away. I'm broody now!!

Aw how frustrating for you! I hope it gets resolved quickly for you! I don't suppose because you have a baby you could be pushed up the list?

I'm sorry. I didn't want to read and run. That really sucks. Maybe it will happen faster than they estimated. I can't believe that the insurance company will only pay for rent for a year when it isn't in your control how long it takes to get the house built. Good luck though, I hope everything works out for you.

I also can't believe that the insurance company would only pay for 1 year's rent when you have no control over how long it takes your house to be re-built... maybe you should make that your new mission? Just keep bothering the insurance company until your house is built - fast! The squeaky wheels get the grease, as my grandmother says.

Yeah... we're in the insurance business. Be the greasy wheel! Just keep pushing, and you'll eventually get attention just to shut you up... it really does work!

It sounds like you're going through a lot of frustration right now. I hope it works out for you soon.

Aww...sorry to hear that! Maybe somebody who takes you in would be OK with an LO on the way.
