Hi Total Newbie!!

Hi everyone!

I am am total newbie to this site and to trying for a baby!!

This will be my and my partners first attempt to try for a baby! so all advice is greatly appreciated!!

I am 25 almost 26, and looking to start trying in july. as said previously this would be my first baby.

I am currently on BCP.

what should i be doing to prepare, i;ve read a few things but not much, we have not told anyone about this yet as we dont want to say anything untill i am actually pregnant. so i'm struggle to find time to research properly.

Any tips and advice would be great, i'm very excited but nervous at the same time.

Welcome!!

Prenatal vitamins are a good place to start... they can make your stomach feel icky the first few days you take them, so it's good to start taking them ASAP. Plus, it's good to bulid up the folic in your system before you start TTC.

I'm sure the other girls will give you lots of good advice, too! Gottta jet, but didn't want to read and run!

I've read that you should go off the pill between 3-6 mo. before trying to TTC, although my doctor said it wasn't necessary. It may take your cycle a while to get normal again. It may not. Personally I've enjoyed being off bc for a little while to learn what's normal for my body in terms of ovulation dates and stuff. I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and loved it, but I'm just a big nerd about reading up on things. I also started using Fertility Friend to learn about my cycles and think it's pretty awesome. If you want to get into stuff like that you can, although it certainly increases my thinking about the whole thing!

Welcome! In addition to what the others suggested, I found What To Expect Before You're Expecting by Heidi Murkoff to be an awesome resource. She goes over everything. There are lists of what you need to do to prepare your body by the month (before TTC), there are charts for tracking fertility, etc. It's great. Good luck to you! We are TTC in June.

welcome!

I'm also new, as of yesterday, WTT until June and also am still on the BCP.

As suggested, I've read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and thought it was an awesome read. I've also been on prenatal vitamins since... over a month ago. I'm pretty excited to start TTC, but am reigning in patience best I can.

Looking forward to hearing more from you, and best of luck! xo
